Gavin Rees vs ?????? - York Hall, January 12th

So Rees will be there at York Hall on the 12th Jan, but no opponent named yet. This is typical ******. We probably won't find out until the week of the fight. Not sure Frank has the same power to manipulate the WBA rankings as the WBO so I guess it'll have to be someone inside their top 15:

Rees seems to think it will be against Kotelnik.

I didn't see his fight against Witter, is he decent?

Think Kotelnik would simply have to much for the one dimensional Rees.

Kotelnik is the mandatory but there was talk of Rees seeking a voluntary defence before that.

Salita has also been rumoured to be a possible opponent for Rees.

No opponent or date is official yet but Gavin is training for this date. It will be on the Johanneson/Mitchell bill.

You would think ****** would put him on a card with Macca rather than the undercard of a british title fight!

I spoke to Gavin a couple of weeks ago & he wasnt to sure.......It was Kotelnik & that was from Gavin back about 8weeks ago but I dont know who it is in Jan. as at the time it was a Dec. fight
I speak to him from time to time so I'll ask him He promised me tickets whoever the opponent....!!!!!!...LOL.

They are going to need to find someone Rees can beat. It's a shame FW can't manipulate the WBA rankings like he allegedly does with the WBO.

According to the schedules Rees is due to fight Kotelnik on the 19th January in Germany on the Skelton v Chagaev card.

Boxrec are mentioning Rees fighting Kotelnik on the Skelton/Chagaev undercard.

Think Rees can beat Kotelnik, he's slow tight and basic a bit like Earl.
