Actually he won't have the 4th , Katsidis only holds the WBO interim title(of which Juan is the full champion) , so all he'll be doing is getting rid of that .
David Diaz will hold the remaining belt and Joel Casamayor will probably try and claim that he's the champion .
Ok. In short, Khan can forget about the record?

In short, I think Khan needs to change the record about breaking records and just concentrate on perfecting his craft.

Agreed. Can't see any point in this record (don't see him getting it against a Diaz at the moment), and if he did things properly without rushing into it he could be a big fighter in the future.

Yep , it means nothing when you think about it . Youngest British fighter to win a World title ?.......so what , there are guys outside Britain that have done it at 17 and in boxing your career as a whole is so much more important than a silly little record .

That's true Big Ears, Wilfred Benitez at aged 17, but how great is he in historic terms? In fact, is he even considered a great? Or Naz for that matter, since he never beat anyone rated on the other side of the Atlantic.

Perhaps ****** can create his own governing body to let Amir become "champ". The FWBO.
I sometimes think people forget what being a champion is all about. It's not about picking up one of several gaudy commercialised trinkets and claiming to be a "world champ".
Surely there can be only one champ at each weight? When Taylor and Pavlik fought, the MC simply announced it as "The middleweight championship of the world". If they have to remind us what alphabet soup belts are on the line, then it's not the real deal.
I know we are stuck with these crooked governing bodies and rubbish belts, but i hope Amir Khan rises above it.

You're right Claypole, the thing is it sems once a young British talent is sucked into the FW stable they're doomed to be the holder of WBU/IBO/WBF type title. Hamed could have been remembered better then he eventually was if he'd gone to the US back in 1995 at bantam weight rather then follow ******'s WBO-Steve Robinson route for big, easy money courtesy of Sky.
I've yet to hear Khan talk about the real champion Diaz, so it seems he's happy to play the FW role which Hamed, Calzaghe did. Hatton's the only one who broke away and got himself recognised in the US.

Yes, Khan could beat him

Katsidis went life and death with some Phillipino bloke I've never heard of last time I saw him

You can talk about Khan's defence, but this guy walks forward with his face out to dry. His face tells the story. With Khan's height, speed and reach advantage he could easily pick him off, and have him stopped on cuts at the least

If you know nothing the opponent, how can you judge the context of the performance?

If I'm not mistaken he's only tied up to Frank ****** until mid 2008. Might be the right time to end it right there.
