whats the story with all the MMA fighters and TRT?

here is a list of current fighters on trt
1-Chael Sonnen- came up 7 times more than the legal limit in his first fight with spider
2-frank mir- he definitely juiced up before now on TRT-
3-vitor belfort- used to be juiced up now on trt....
4-Henderson.. TRT user
5-Forrest- been on TRT for YEARS
6-stephan bonner- TRT
7-Jake Sheilds -
8-Nate marquardt


basically all these dudes go on Roids and when their balls stop working they go on TRT which is basically cheating and some have as much as 7 times the legal limit.

MMA has become a JOKE considering how some of its best rated fighters are on TRT..

The problem is the hypocrisy of the UFC. Dana White has gone on record saying that he despises cheats and steroid use, but then he allows TRT.

In most of those cases these guys get a doctor's script for it because they juice a few cycles and then get tested during their off cycle when their body can't produce it's own T, so they naturally show a testosterone deficiency. Bodybuilders have used this loophole in the testing for years now.

The funniest comment i ever heard once was Arnold at the Arnold Classic congratulating 'The Blade' on winning in 2009 or 2010 i think, and loudly proclaimed on the stage "Lets kick drugs out of the sport". Dexter basically just ignored him and he got an anemic round of applause from the crowd. Dexter used to be 140lbs. He's 235lbs on stage at approx 6% probably less. No drugs.........

On the subject of TRT and PEDS in general the UFC is very hypocritical. Then again so is the boxing world. Boxers such as Mosley and Toney got a slap on the wrist as a form of punishment. They don't really punish cheaters. They give them time off from work. Maybe it's up to the fans to do something about it. When Overeem came back from his suspension there were a ton of fans who seemed to forgive and forget about what he did. Not sure if there is a real solution. There is basically an entire league full of guys on some sort of PED. Are we supposed to get rid of them all?

Are you ****ing serious? does Dana White run the athletic commisions of every country/state the UFC holds events in now?

It has NOTHING to do with Dana White whether or not TRT is allowed or not.

Dana White has actually been an outspoken critic of TRT.

Maybe do some research next time?

Going down swinging aye? Dana had no problem with TRT until the media made a big deal out of it. He only changed his mind recently claiming he's going to come down on abusers. A bit different to his previous statement over a year ago. Or did you miss that little tidbit....

MMA is a sport about fighting and hurt business. of course if you have 7 times more test you are going to go harder...

but just keep in mind, the dudes who have used roids to get big (anabolic steriods) will always need to fix up their test and Dana knows it.

What hes saying is, ok use it but during your camp and near the fight '' we will test the shit out of you)

basically you can go on a high dosage of TRT, then cut off 1 month before fight.....

I think Dana is actually wanting to test people year round, so they CAN'T use it during their training camps.

We're getting off topic a little bit anyway to be fair.

Regardless of Dana White's stance on TRT. He's not the athletic commision, so he's not allowing it, he has literally no say whatsoever over it.

So to blame him/praise him for the use of TRT in MMA would be completely wrong.

VADA has standing offer to oversee UFC drug testing program with 'no administrative charges'

Dr. Margaret Goodman tells Bloody Elbow that VADA has offered to oversee an extensive blood and urine testing program for their fighters with no administrative fees.

Recent months have seen a noticeable uptick in the number of positive drug tests in the UFC. Over the last 6 months there have been nine disclosed positive drug tests in the world's largest fight promotion.

I reached out to Dr. Margaret Goodman of the Voluntary Anti Doping Agencey earlier today and asked if the UFC has asked for any assistance from VADA. Dr. Goodman provided the following statement:

On 2/16/13, VADA sent a proposal to the UFC addressed to Lorenzo, Dana and Frank that VADA would help them set up a state-of-the art PED program with unannounced random testing for blood and urine. We indicated that there would be no adminsitrative charges at least for the first year. This would include education courses. We would use a WADA-accredited lab, certified doping collection officers and the results would go to the fighter, the UFC, the ABC/the official MMA record-keeper for the ABC, and the commission where the fighter held a license. I believe the UFC would save money, improve public confidence that fighters are competing clean, injuries would be less with fighters competing less on PEDs, and overall safety would improve. We also mentioned that although VADA no longer has THC in our testing panel, we would include it at their request. The testing would include EPO, hGH, CIR. To date, we have had no response, but we remain happy to discuss.

In short, this means that the UFC would have no fees to pay for this drug testing other than collection fees and the testing panel -- again, only from WADA-accredited labs. The actual program would be overseen and administered by VADA along with the education portion. So, VADA would basically make no money off of the UFC as they don't own or run the WADA-accredited labs that would receive the collection/testing panel fees.

This is a very serious offer and unannounced random blood and urine testing at basically the cutting edge of sport testing with a low cost could seriously benefit the UFC if they're serious about having the cleanest, safest sport possible. And, with more and more positive drug tests lately, could keep public confidence high.

Of course, year round random testing may lead to more positive drug tests before fights. Which would mean more cancelled bouts. So it is still to be seen if that is something the UFC has any interest in risking.
