Lol, I honestly like Floyd but if you think HATTON's holding caused him problems, you have no idea what sherk would do to him...

Boxing versus MMA is dumb. I love boxing, but anyone who thinks the best boxer beats the best MMA fighter at the same weight in a street fight is just IGNANT!

Mayweather proved he knows how to use his elbows against Hatton. Shrek can hold all he wants, Mayweather can handle it.

Both sports and both types of combatants have my utmost respect, but at the end of the day, boxing will still be standing.

mma will never fade... high school wrestling is very big in the us, and ufc is the promised land to white high school kids who dont play football.

first of all on the streets, you don't know if a guy is a boxer or a wrestler. So if your first instincts is to taste another mans skills toe to toe boxing..If you have that horrible luck in running into a real boxer you're probably going to get knocked the fuck out, countered, fuckin owned within 10 seconds of standing on your feet. Boxers have iron chins in comparison to most MMA fighters it is not even close. I see guys in MMA getting sent on queer street with a mofucking jab. And yeah i know wrestling may tire you out but those guys have piss poor stamina. Boxers are serious fucking athletes, and I'd equate a 12 round war to a triathlon over an MMA fight to a triathlon. ( in the sense of endurance not dimensions of styles)

The point of the thread is that boxing finished up the year solidly as the best fight sport, and all the dumbass MMA fans who said it was down for the count can now wander off... Lidell is done, Hughes was beat, GSP was beat, and Sherk got busted doing what we all knew he was doing.

Boxing > MMA.

Yeah? Tell that to a prime, undefeated Fernando Vargas, got choked out and thrown around like a play toy, by an amateur MMA fighter.

so? mayweather isnt about hitting you hard, hes about accumalitive damage.... are you trying to tell me that if sherk tried to fight mayweather with his fists, he would go the distance? he would get pummeled so bad after a few rounds that no ref would let it continue....
