Green said he still wanted to avenge defeat to Tarver, although he also hinted that his fight with the Polish cruiserweight might signal the end of his career.

"It could be my last fight. Who knows?" Green said.

He did the same thing when he won the WBA LHW title and was supposed to defend it against Hugo Garay. Danny Booshay claims it was a feeling in his stomach that made him retire, im incline to belive it was because he knew he couldnt hang onto the WBA title for very long, he may have watched this clip that night of Hugo lol

Theres a few he could defend it against but money wise, it wouldnt draw much of an attraction, few of these guys are well known in australia. Alot of risk with little reward. I think he will retire pretty soon after this fight 4 sure.

Think this is a optional defence by Wlod. He is entitled to defend against anyone in the top 15 WBC rankings. Danny just scrapes in at 15.

is a forced defence only when someone puts in a challenge? ie how exactly does a mandatory work, matched, etc.

My understanding (and like TC's vagina is very loose) is that a champion can fight whoever they like as long as they take a mandatory within 6-12 months.

Most orgs prefer their optional defences to be in the top 15 rankings.
Mandatories are usually with top 1 or 2 rankings depending on availability.
Wlodarczyk has beaten both top 2 ranked challengers. Thats why he was chaseing Huck or Green for a unification fight. Rumours were he was in financial trouble and after a good money fight. After a marriage break up he tried to neck himself so the Huck option went out the window. Should he get past Green, his next fight i presume would be a mandatory.

i never bought that spiel about Green being scared of Garay - simply because Garay wasnt that good - sure that clips shows him dropping and stopping bums but against quality of the Green and above he couldnt stop shit. Green would've easily kept him back with the jab until such time as he dropped that right hand bomb over Garay's low left hand.

that said i stopped being a green fan the moment he quit that time and became a hater after returning to cruiser and fighting has beens as acting as if he were legit.

i may become a fan again given his taking of this current fight though
