Yea I guess we're focusing a bit too much.
To lose fat you need to do cardio as well as you can focus on working the largest muscles in the body. Your back, your abs and your pecs. (not including the leg muscles) Run a couple of times a week, the longer (time wise) you run the better, but if you start running long distances then do not do it every day leave 2-3 days of rest during the week. So you don't get muscle fatigue. Let me add a little to this so there is no misunderstanding. With 30 minute and bellow jogs you don't have to have any rest days, your body should be capable of this after a while with no downtime (maybe take a sunday off and just chillaxe or something). If you start running hour runs or more, give yourself rest days as otherwise you can tire your muscles and see a drop in your running distance. Beyond that if you want to focus on using boxing within your weight loss I suggest doing shadowboxing and bag. But listen to someone that is maybe a bit more experienced within the sweet science and not just in running. EDIT: Also for weight loss the right diet is gonna get you a long way. Stop eating candy and don't drink sodas or beer. If you wanna be all crazy about it don't eat anything with too much carbohydrates, this includes bread, juices, Any baked goods produced from flour and any food on rice and potatoes. |
