Default Floyd Patterson 1960 v Dwight Muhammad Qawi 1986

Patterson on the night that he became the first man to regain the heavyweight championship going at it with the Qawi who pushed Evander Holyfield all the way in,arguably, the greatest cruiserweight fight since the division was created.

Patterson UD. That combination of speed and skill would make the difference. Just another league of fighter. Qawi only managed to push Evander ´cause the latter was inexperienced.

I agree that Floyd wins over the distance. Qawi has some good moments though, decking Floyd once or twice.

A tough fight, but a highly dynamic Floyd would win. He was moe mobile, unpredictable.

Qawi is underrated. Mahn did that guy come to fight. I think he gives Patterson all he could handle and then some.

Patterson would stop him if it's above 175 I think. Qawi would find Patterson's combinations more difficult to duck than Holyfield's.

And Patterson's head will also be more reachable for Qawi than Holyfield's , and after they land , Patterson's chin was not as Holyfield's . And to keep Qawi at bay , Patterson will have less power than Holyfield .

Most fighters around the same size or smaller than floyd will struggle to defeat him.

His chin is clearly his weakness and that's how you get to him. His power and speed is underrated as is his skillset.

Liston and clay were too big for him. Ingo caught him with the hammer of thor. Aside from that he never really lost.

Patterson´s chin was okay, far less worse than people think it was. Good enough to take Qawi´s best.

Oh, and Patterson had more power than Holyfield.

I guess Patterson would have floored Tyson , Mercer , Bowe & Cooper , if he only had Holyfield's chin . Well , except from Bowe , who was too big for him .

Tyson would walk through Patterson. Floyd could be intimidated. Liston did, Tyson would too. Tyson´s a fast starter, Floyd is vulnerable early due to his anxiety. Tyson would end it in the first 1-2 rounds.

Patterson would decision Mercer, flooring him is not out of the question.

Patterson would knock Cooper out.

Bowe is interesting, Bowe could stop Patterson. Patterson could decision Bowe. Bowe was never in with someone who had the combination of speed, skill and power that Patterson brings to the table, so he may even get stopped. I would make Patterson a slight fav here. But then I don´t think high of Bowe - IMO not better than Primo Canera - and better of Patterson than most on here.

There is a difference, Patterson had more one punch power than Holy and combined with his speed that´s very dangerous and led to some spectacular knockouts. Holy was more of an attrition puncher which in turn enabled him to even floo very durable opponents.
