Personally I do 3 running sessions per week when in training. 1 sprint session, 1 interval session (600m-800m), and 1 "distance" session (between about 4-5km).

As for other ways of increasing endurance, try some HIIT.
Something like 30 seconds of burpees, 30 sec jumping jacks, 30 sec squat jumps, 30 sec mountain climbers. Rest 1 min and repeat for 5 rounds.
Adjust the round/rest times as per your level of fitness etc.
what are mountain climbers?

Aloe, if you stick around Aussie ESB for awhile you'll soon realise
that you don't have to be polite to Ty [TCboxa] the big noting

Big noting my ass, i stated the obvise you wankers! , you get far more help in that section of the forums than anywhere else, the AUS forum is mostly viewed and posts are made by Australians, the training section of the forum is viewed and posted by international members and he would have a much higher rate of responses and knowledgeable ones at that.

I have recently bought a locally produced boxing training book that covers this topic in depth as well as putting together your own boxing training program. Check out The art of boxing:your guide to the sweet science. I have learnt alot about the sport and the training involved since reading it.

Interval sessions. I run 10k's and simply running a long distance without any real goal doesn't prepare you for a race. If you have a access to a running track then you could try running intervals on it. You could do 400m running hard for 200 then jogging 200 and repeat this for 10 laps of the track. If you don't have access to a track then I presume you run a particular route so you can judge intervals by landmarks and approximate a similar result.
Hill running is also good but my knees are suspect so i steer clear of that!
If you want something more explosive then you can do shorter sprint intervals, 100k on and off around the track for a few laps.
I run 10k in just under 40 mins and the above works for my endurance, one longer, slower run per week is also handy.
