1977? I suppose he might have been trying to lure him into another fight. Frazier did come back and fight the Jumbo Cummings fight in the early 80's. Hard to know what to think about that or why Ali said this.

Fits?

He picked up a few rounds before being knocked out cold.

Winning rounds against Marciano isn't easy work. Lasting the marathon and WINNING against the Rock is another story altogether.
Why would he lose at 220? He showed he could fight at that weight.

A shot Joe Louis shouldn't be able to win any rounds.

Of course a lower center of gravity would help in a slug-fest against Frazier.

Ali and Joe win 10 out 10, there is no shot for Marciano.

The same shot Joe Louis that won 8 fights in a row and rounds against Ezzard Charles? That shot Louis?

Ali at 220 would probably be far too stationary a target to win over a distance against Marciano. If he's going to be 220+ his chances are greatly diminished. Peak Ali might win 8 or 9 out of 10. A 220+ one might win 4 or 5 out of 10, and that could be generous.
