Agreed. He is tough but hes had lots of luck as well. I thought Dirrell won that fight between them. Gutted Jermaine Taylor couldnt hang on for another 20 seconds. I think Ward will school him though. Heres hoping

Honestly I didn't really that much about that fight, but the challenge was on Kessler and not that much on Calzaghe. But still great performance by Calzaghe. Clear win for the man.

the hate for joe is laughable on here.

this is what happens when calzaghe has beat your favourite fighter. this is what happens when there is no blueprint how to beat you.

not a Calzaghe fan at all but was one of his easier fights to watch. Unlike Lacy which was a whitewash and Hopkins which was barely watchable this had a little ebb and flow action. Clear win for Joe and had to ship some big punches especially one particular uppercut.

Kessler proved his worth versus Froch but i agree his record was massively padded. even his win over Beyer looked like Beyer sat down after a one two and couldnt be arsed.

i think some people really dont like Ward for different reasons or agendas but it is possible the young man could be great.
Calzaghe never showed his greatness untill it was nearly too late in comparison Ward has plenty of time.

Im not sure I completely understand the last part of your quote. Calzaghe already had a win over Eubank and had beaten top world rated SMWs in Reid, Brewer, Lacy, Woodhall, Starie, Bika, Veit, Mitchell etc.
Wards biggest win after the S6 will be Kessler that Calzaghe beat. If he were to beat Bute it wouldnt be as big a victory

I was very impressed with Calzaghe. I thought Kessler would be too strong and too young, but Calzaghe showed his masterclass when he turned around the fight and won a close but clear decision.

After this fight I became a fan of Calzaghe even though he beat my favorite fighter.

He beat Kessler at Kessler's own game. Ward beat him by running and pot-shotting. Calzaghe stood toe-to-toe, taking hard shots but out-punching him.
