Default The entire heavyweight division

Has been cleared out by the Klitschkos. This seems obvious, but I remember thinking before the Haye and Adamek fights that when the Klitschkos win they pretty much have no opposition to face. The point that I'm trying to make is that the people bitching about the Mormeck fight seriously need to shut the hell up. The entire division has been cleared by the Klitschkos, and there is nobody that can beat them. The fact is that Wladimir and Vitali now have the right to fight ANYBODY they want because nobody deserves a shot.

Wladimir/Vitali constantly fight the best. Vitali took a 2 week notice to fight lewis when he was originally supposed to face a bum. Wladimir constantly fights the #1 guys in the division such as Haye and Peter. When the opposition was there, they always fought the best and never backed down. It was usually the best guys that constantly avoided the Klitschkos.

Now that the division is completely done, Wladimir and Vitali get to choose anyone they want to face since nobody deserves a shot. The mormeck fight is a clear example, nobody truly deserves a title shot over mormeck and the fact is that in negotiations mormeck probably did not want that much of the share and thats how the Klitschkos choose who they want to fight now. The fact that people want the Klitschkos to fight Holyfield/Toney is just a sign of ignorance. Those guys are 2 complete bums that probably demand something ridiculous in terms of money that they really do not deserve.

The overall point is that when the division is cleared with no formidable opposition, the undisputed champs have the right to pick anybody.

Then don't fight 2 or 3 times a year. Amp it up to 4 or 5.

And get some more decent matches on their undercards too. They have been very cheap in developing opponents. Their undercards have sucked my dock since the Vitali comeback. These dudes are very cheap.

Exactly right.

Now that Haye has been beaten, and Adamek, and the only two other intresting opponents (Heleius and Povetkin) aren't ready (Povetkin never will be), the brothers have to now pick whatever they see as making the most sense from other perspecives, as you said, that means credible opponents that can make them the most money by having to pay the opponent the least.

They've already cleaned house once, so whomever they fight from this point forward can't be rightfully criticized at all............At least, not until some other credible opponents are ready to take their chance.......but as of now, they are not, so the brothers have to *stay busy*.

All great champions have to do this. You can't have a Wlad/Haye sized matchup every time. THere are only so many good opponents out there, and when you've already beaten them all, only the most biased boxing fan can criticize you for fighting a Mormeck.

there is still helenius, povetkin if he ever fancies a go, fury, but mormeck is one of the highest ranked heavyweights yet to have a title shot, and you wont find another hw champ who hasnt had fights against someone like mormeck.
But wlad and vitali are not the same person, wlad has plenty of opponents that he hasnt faced yet that have fought vitali and vice versa

I would still like to see Wlad against some of the Vitali's opponents & Vitali against some of Wlad's.

Wlad v Arreola would be a good challenge as would Vitali v Haye.

It's a shame Povetkin won't step up as he would be a good opponent.

Much as I'd like better undercards, remember that the brothers don't fight on ppv in Germany and thus the pot of money is smaller than for other stars of the sport. That means the undercard can't be too expensive if the event is to come out in the black.

I agree with most of what you say. They have cleaned out the division and should get to pick their opponents at this point in time. I'm not pissed about the Mormeck fight because like you said, who else deserves a shot more at this point? Messerstick has a good point too though, add another fight or 2 in a year, and try to make the cards better. The sport would benefit from that happening. My last point is this - Do not call Evander Holyfield and James Toney "bums" because thats completely wrong. You can say their way over the hill and fighting on way too long, but bums they will never be, especially Evander.

The silence is deafening. No one is calling out Wladimir or ridiculing his choice of opponent. The so-called contenders are lining up for the WBA paper belt.

That is blatantly false.

Here are top contenders that Vitali never fought:

Chagaev
Chambers
Rahman
Ibragimov
Brewster
Austin
Brock
McCline
Mercer
Barrett
Byrd (Vitali never asked for a rematch)

And Wlad never fought these top contenders:

Adamek
Arreola
Solis
Briggs
Sanders (Wlad never asked for a rematch)

We all know Lennox ducked Wlad, so we can't blame Wlad for that fight not happening. And before any Lennox nut-huggers start making excuses, let me say that Wlad's loss to Sanders is NOT an excuse for Lennox ducking him. Lennox got knocked out in 2 by McCall, and no one ever says that he was a crap fighter because of that one loss.
