Yo Mag has a sick avator of tommy hearns.....anyway Man this is a great match up a pick em to me.....Off the top of my head I side with Cuevas but the more i think of it, Cuevas defense waas non existant hit like hell with no head movement....Cotto has better overall technique and defense and alot of heart both did at their best....it would a a complete war....in a series I'd take Cotto in one fight it would go either way so i side with Cotto.......I just see him landing more clean shots and his body attack take its toll over cuevas in a back and forth battle. Crazy thing is at anytime Cuevas could land the right shot and its lights out.....who ever made this found a great fanstasy fight

No it doesnt take someone with extraordinary skills to beat Cotto but cuevas was short of ordinary, he was a power puncher without a jab/footwork/head movement or any claimable defense...he was C+ at best and to say he would toy with Miguel is laughable after the beatings he has taken...lay off the aztec pipe hermano, you aint fooling anybody. |

Cotto with his uncle as trainer might give Cuevas a run for his money. Cotto would stay away from Cuevas' powershot just like against Mosely. I don't see Cuevas as fast as Pac or as big as Margo.
I don't count Cuevas either. One punch from him could change the tide. I' favoring cotto 60/40 on this one. |

Cotto uses his under-rated jab, (Barerra-esque timing) to keep Pipino off balance and at range. Winning a wide UD or a late TKO.
I've always seen Cuevas as over-rated, and consider a 'Prime' Miguel to be the one I saw for 5-6 rounds against Marg, at that point I was thinking 'wow, this guy can fight.' |
