Then it either ends in a draw or one of them isn't unbeatable anymore.

Welliver is down 50 pounds below his Solis weight. And he has been down fight in and fight out. Arreola has been down what, 1 or 2 fights? Let's see if he can do it consistently.

As for what would happen....A West Coast War! That is what would happen. I don't think either guy is capable of knocking the other out. It comes down to the cards and my money would definitely be on Welliver to score a UD win. 8 rounds to 4, possibly 7 to 5 in favor of Welliver.

This would be a damn good fight.

I think this fight would be very interesting. Both have skills that are under rated.......well Wellivers skills are at least. Chris's come forward style versus a guy who can dodge could lead to some interesting axchanges.

Welliver needs to up his level of competition, and Chris needs a durable opponent,so why not?

His father was a trainer before he passed. His brother Dumont was world class in the ams, beat many eventual world champions. His brother Rick runs Spokane Boxing. Chauncy went into toughman at 16 and got disqualified for it from the amateurs. So he went pro right away and has learned on the job. The last 6 years he is 30-1-2 revenging both draws and the loss was to Solis on 10 days notice and 50 pounds ago.

This guy has put in the work. 343 HW rounds and he has never gone down. 50-5-5 pro record, #7 WBC #10 WBO, regional titles he can defend on 4 continents. Besides his boxing fights, the guy has been part of hundreds of rounds in all of the HW top camps over the last 10 years.

For all of the effort this man has put into this game, he also does radio here on ESB with On The Ropes, he does a biweekly radio show in Spokane, he gets way too much flack here on ESB. People have no respect these days.

Chauncy Welliver is a throwback fighter. Fighting for cash since 16? Over 100 fights and 100 camps since 16? He's only 28. That folks, is how a serious mf'r learns his craft. By putting in tens of thousands of hours. This man deserves a break and a chance in a fight like this with Chris Arreola.

Arreola have a chin is stronger and hit way harder than pillow hitting Chauncey. Arreola by mid round stoppage.

Smoking way too many of those Marlboro Greens Chiko. 343 rounds and Welliver has never even been down. Arreola would not drop or stop him...but he will probably bleed all over him.

This day in age where boxing is the sport that it has become and boxers spend more time on Twitter than boxing, cats like Chauncy go unnoticed....Lack of Exposure, Lack of Trash Talk, lack of Marketing, who knows? All I know is that it is a breath of fresh air seeing him do his thing. Its almost like he is the guy next door, your buddy or friend. I wish him the best, and hope he gets a match against Arreola, with a title shot against a Klit at stake... He is throwback fighter, if more dudes were like him as far as work ethic and activity boxing would be a center stage sport.

Here is a great article from 10 fights back. About Chauncy and his brother Dewey. Dewey was sparring Abraham to get him ready for Dirrell, Chauncy was sparring with Huck. In the comments a local guy is talking about his grandson being a member of Spokane boxing team and how great of a role model Chauncy is for him. His nepehew also comments in and endorses the articles views.

My only beef is that there are too many jokes. Chauncy is much more serious of a contender today. This is when he was just cracking the ratings and just starting to get into top shape. Very good read though.

Apparantly those weasles at DavidTua.net also want this match with Arreola and also don't want a match with Chauncy? They just upped the requirements on Chauncy getting the Tua match again. 1st, it was Tua needed a rated guy and that Welliver needed to get in better shape, so he did all of that and more. Then it became, we can't fight Chauncy because we need a Top 10 opponent, and now of course, #7 to Vitali, #10 to Wlad. And of course, now they need a Top 5 opponent. Aaaaaaah!

The guy hasn't fought any top 10 guy, or a top 5, or even a rated guy unless Cameron had 1 at the time. New Zealand HW Champion cannot even get a match with Tua being a K2 Top 10? That is craziness folks.

I might have to start taking hostages to get Welliver a fight worthy of his status. Any Aussies interested in helping me kidnap a few New Zealanders?
