God, I hope not. I couldn't watch the Hopkins-Jones rematch. I'd much rather see a Hopkins-Johnson rematch.

I doubt that. Hopkins would have nothing to gain from fighting Toney at this point whether financially or for legacy.

James Toney would beat Hopkins at 168, 175, and 190 +

I actually think Prime for Prime, Toney is more skilled, but he doesn't have anywhere near the same ammount of dedication as Bernard.
So many different styles..? like what..?

Lunging in with his head down, and then holding..? Thats what Hopkins does when he's out of sorts..........

Seriously James Toney, would **** Hopkins up inside the pocket. And from the outside, Hopkins does not have "Fast enough pot shots" to land consistently to deter James Toney.

James Toney had a by far better jab, and lead left hook than Hopkins.

"Hopkins had better mobility, and great spoiling tactics.....James Toney had faster hand speed, and hit WAY harder"

This is a fight I wish had happen and still could. As boxing fans we should push for it to come to pass. I think it would be a great fight. Then I would of took Toney for the win, but now I'm to sure.

In his Prime Toney was the most highly skilled fighter on the planet (I wish he would have stayed away from the buffet table . . . especially leading up to the RJJ fight). Everything Bhop could do Toney could do better, Toney's ring IQ was off the chart, had faster hands, more power and he put old into old school.

All the tricks that Bhop employes in the ring would not work on Toney because he has seen them all.

Unfortunately, people only see the present day version of both fighters and forget (or never knew) the truth back in the day. In fact, Toney might have enough in him to beat Bhop today. He could never make 175 again but if Bhop was brave enough to fight @ 190

Considering Hopkins didn't hit his prime until 40 and Toney didn't stop juicing until... he hasn't ever stopped juicing has he?

In conclusion a roided to the rafters toney batters a green hopkins. Much like Juiced Jones Junior did.

Mike McCallum lost by an hair that first fight and that was due to Toney's superior power. Bernard would work him up and down the same way just that I don't feel that with his size and craftiness he would lose due to powershots one at a time.

But honestly I don't think Hopkins could do any better than Mike McCallum did. I pick Toney by a close UD, of course he would have to be a 100%.

Interesting fact: when asked about the best MW champs to come after him, Marvin Hagler stated James Toney first and Hopkins second.
