He was very good with atg ability, but didn't stay long enough for us to see his full potential. I feel the same with Floyd at that weight

He was better at Welterweight. Gets totally overblown at Lightweight, kinda like Michael Moorer at Lt. Heavyweight, but not that bad.

He was very very good. Opposition was a bit limited like, Holiday was probably his toughest fight on paper, but he ****ing crushed Molina who had given de la Hoya one or two problems.

Not great in a Duran, Leonard, Gans or Whitaker sense though.

Agree with the Mosley comment. He only moved up to face Oscar for the big money. I don't think he had any real big challenges at LW at the time. He sure was more aggressive at LW than WW.

He was struggling to make the weight. He was walking around at 160 I believe. The Oscar fight and his placement in the top 10 P4P rankings was the catalyst for him to stop cutting weight and move to 147.

Hmmm, I thought I bring this up. I remember the commentators stating that Mosley boasted that he was bench pressing 315 back then at LW. I think that would push you up a weight division.

He's one of the physically strongest boxers I think I've seen. He used it well when he could but he didn't know how to use it in every fight (fights where he got bullied like Forrest and Wright spring to mind, he just couldn't apply it).

Very good. Big for the weight but also very fast. His combinations really punished guys at that weight.

It's hard to say just how good since his competition wasn't very strong. I think there was an article in Sports Illustrated at the time that said he was possibly the best Lightweight ever, which is ****ing absurd.

Gomez wasn't up to too much really, but it was an impressive shot.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHoTb_oXgvE[/ame]

Leija was a good solid fighter but had taken some beating from the likes of Ruelas, de la Hoya and Nelson, he kissed the canvas quite often though.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNrn_rjkSqU[/ame]

Johnson wasn't up to too much either but he was thorougly crushed.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tdS5FYpg-8[/ame]

Ruiz wasn't exactly top shelf either but Shane broke him down and scored a very nice KO.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1GTtXvOGRE[/ame]

Shane was a fighter with great physical gifts but he fell in love with them a bit too much, and as time went on he really regressed as a fighter on the whole. Looked to his right hand and his chin too much I felt as his career went on. Shame really. The Forrest fight shredded him of confidence too.

An awesome lightweight. Very very good indeed. Top knockout artist who used to lay people out in style.

He was a great LW. Probably would have made the best 140 pounder of the 2000-2005 era if he didnt go past 147 lbs.

At LW, Mosley was a monster. I'm not sure what people are talking about saying Mosley didn't stay in the division long enough. He was huge for the weight for one and two, beat most of the names floating around that division at the time. After beating Holiday for the title, he defended his title 8 times KOing every challenger.

There was no reason for Mosley to stay at LW. I would have loved to see him in the 140 pound mix at that time though.

Say Mosely met Kostya on his way up to welter at that time.

How do you guys see that playing out??
