To buy shares in a boxer? Or would the only way be, to buy shares in the promotional company in charge of the boxer? It would be more like betting on a boxers career rather than just the outcome of one fight. I'm not a betting man but would be interested in doing this if its possible.

You may co-promote a fighter. Becuse fighters are entities, not publicly traded corporations, you may not buy stock in a fighter (at least not in America).
You could find a guy in a local gym who has some talent and offer to split the promotional duties and expenses with either his current representation or a couple of buddies in exchange for a portion of the fighter's earnings. If you are talking about well known fighters, keep in mind that most major promoters are not publicly held corporations and do not have stock. Golden Boy is a limited partnership and something tells me Arum doesn't share his profits with anybody. |
