If Frankie LoPorto happens to beat Austin Trout it will make for a very nice earner for LoPorto to defend against Anthony Mundine.

LoPorto seems like a good honest bloke, but he is getting schooled very bad if this fight happens.
Complete different level of class & am very surprised LoPorto was even considered.

Spot on. He is a ballsy fighter and he has improved from his earlier fights. The dawson win was a bit of a surprise but loporto obviously trained hard and dug in.

Trout?.. aiming too high. But good on him for taking it and having a crack.

I think your underselling Frankie Doyle she's a crazy bitch i reckon she'd give Trout a bit of trouble for the 1st couple of rounds

Big fan of frank...but jeez this is really pushing it.

I mean Frank is a ranked contender, so Trout is within his rights to choose him as a voluntary..its not like he was ranked out of nowhere just for this fight.
But really Frank hasn't really even graduated from domestic level.

He will do better than people expect I reckon...he has a big heart and a very good chin, plus Trout can't punch all that much.

Whilst checking out Frank's ranking...which is 14 by the way...I noticed Robbie Bryant is ranked 9 at middlweight!!!! Thats mind boggling, two PABA fights is all it took.

It's nothing new Kegster...but a top ten ranking that quick really shows how bullshit the system is these days.

I thought only the WBO did it that quick because was generally less recognized...whilst the others have you hover around 14th and 15th for a while.

Depends how much pull your promoter has also.
Without looking too hard im sure you could find examples of guys with 1 win suddenly appearing well inside a top 10, even top 5 on some occasions of a sanctioning bodies ratings.

I agree with you. Can't see how Frankie even got a look in here. But there's always that 'what if' whenever 2 guys step into the ring.

Good on Him,many year ago thats what most fighters did they took on all comers to try and improve and get experience and perhaps one day get an elusive World Title shot, turn the clock forward to now and World Titles are like "Arseholes" everyone has one and they tend to pick and choose to manipulate there career,I wish him luck although he is gunna need it.!!!

Interesting news at HBO...

They have just apponted showtime boss ken hersman to take over as president of sports and boxing.

You wonder if we see inherant changes with programming and whether his appointment will affect the ridiculously cosy relationship that al haymon has with the network.
