Default Austin Trout...

Hes a good fighter, but defending his "title" against a 15-4 fighter, when there are far more worthy fighters to challenge him doesn't help his cause. I know hes only 26 and only has 23 pro fights, but that should have no bearing on who he gets to defend against and who his mandatory is. I dont blame Trout, but the WBA, once again proves that it needs to be downgraded to a B level organizations. This guy hes defending against Frank LoPorto, is the PABA Champion, and really at this point the WBA title is about as meaningless as that one.

As for Trout, David Lopez was a good win, but this is no way to follow up on it if hes trying to prove hes the best light middleweight in the world.

Trout needs to take something to stay busy. He had signed to fight Anthony Mundine until Mundine *****ed out. Then he was going to face Vanes Martirosyan until Vanes *****ed out. Then he was in talks with Angulo until he signed with GBP and signed to fight Kirkland instead.

Point is, the weak opponent this time isn't his fault.

He'll have trouble finding opponents until he can build a name. Dude's been on American TV like once 3 years ago? That said, he's the best fighter most fans haven't seen. He's like a southpaw Timothy Bradley. But because of that, nobody known will want to make fights with him because he's very high risk and very low reward, especially when the other belts at 154 are held by worse fighters like K-9 Bundrage.

He deserves an easy fight. He's been on the road, fighting for peanuts and Mundine backed out. He has earned his title and deserves a bit of a break and a bit of a homecoming fight.

The guy should organise a home fight to try and get a home following going. He looks okay from the vids. But Alvarez and Lopez were both slow moving opponents.
