Default Better performance Martinez-Baker or Donaire-Narvaez??

Both guys that are being talked about as numbe 3 p4p. To me Martinez has deserved it the most.

as far as performances i think Martinez got the edge on Donaire. Both were similar opponents in that they were unbeaten unknown fighters.

I see Martinez having the edge in performances since he actually kept going until he got the KO. also Baker was bigger than Martinez which is what caused him problems whereas Donaire had all the advantages and underperformed.

What you guys think??

Martinez did what Donaire couldn't do.

Martinez's face was more bloodied and may have gotten hit much more but he was able to finish the job. Donaire just played along and did what he needed to do. I'd say Martinez, but only slightly. Donaire may have had the size, speed and power but he faced a tough undefeated veteran.

hold up...SIMILAR OPPONENTS?

Darren Barker fought the same way as Narvaez? **** NO

Barker stood his ground and fired back shots while Narvaez ran away after jabbing once or twice.

So no, they DID NOT fight similar opponents.

Barker threw in combinations while Narvaez barely threw any punches

Martinez he had a broken nose and kept working till he found a solution and K.O Barker. Plus he was smaller which too caused some problems

I felt Donaire had all the advantages, size, power speed and experience howvere he had no plan B, why didn't he attempt to walk Narvvaez down, where were the body shots to slow him down?

I was really disappointed in Doniare....Im no longer convinced by him.

After he destroys Nishioka or Arce will you be back on the bandwagon?

I said they were similar in which they were undefeated and unknown fighter.
As far as styles though. There was things to even the opponents out. so yes they were similar. The only difference is Martinez kept pushing the pace even though he was putting himself at risk while Donaire was basically just waiting the fight out.

The ribs were there for the taking for Donaire but he didnt want to.

Tough call. Sergio was going against a bigger opponent who wasn't 36 and he knocked him out, but there was one point in the fight were you thought that maybe Baker was going to come and pull of the upset and Sergio looked to be in a little trouble.

Donaire was going against a smaller opponent where he had all the advantages and didn't get hit as much as Sergio. He didn't hurt him though other than the first part of the fight, but he looked to be in control for most of the fight. After 3 rounds Donaire was losing 2-1, but I still had no doubt that he was going to win.

I say Donaire looked better slightly

Donaire. Narvaez skill level is a notch above Barker clear as day. Even Roy was impressed at his defensive skill. He made Winkys shell looked amateurish.

Barker turned up to fight, Barker was the bigger guy and Martinez took him apart, knocked him out.

Narvaez, the skilled fighter who's far more advanced than Barker didn't turn up, he was the smaller guy and it went to a lackluster decision.

Donaire had the more quality opponent, but Martinez scored the better win because he fought a live one, and finished how a top P4P-er should.
