Default Best boxing gloves for beginner?

I'll be starting boxing soon, and I want to get my own gloves...I should get 16oz., right? Also, what kind are the best? Boxing gloves aren't that expensive, so if I can afford top-notch ones, I want them.

well 16's for sparring yeah, but you're also going to need bag gloves which are a little smaller, usually around 10-12 oz's. theres countless brands out there and everyone has their opinions on what is the best. I'd get a cheaper pair to beat the piss outta for a while then when you get better drop some coin on a good pair. up to you tho

Are Ringside Gel Shock Safety Sparring gloves any good?

I want something that I can also hit a boxing dummy with.

After looking online and at prices and reviews, etc., I'm looking for 16 oz. sparring gloves under $100, and that have velcro instead of lace...seems like only place to buy gloves is Ringside, and the only gloves that fit that category is the one above.

well the more popular ones are 180 inch mexican style wraps. mexican wraps are somewhat stretchy. wraps are pretty cheap so you can go with a top notch pair there. i have the rival ones, but theyre all good

Anyone else have trouble ordering? I'm getting cheap gloves, but whenever I try to order from Ringside or Everlast, I fill out my address and hit continue, then it goes back to the checkout page...I can't buy any gloves anywhere!

Fixed. Just ordered Some shitty Everlast Training Gloves, 2 Ringside hand wraps, and 2 Ringside gel shock knuckle guards. Only like $75, so I'll try them out when I get them...

They got my address wrong (they used the first line of my billing address instead of my shipping address), and they sent me an email yesterday saying it was shipped, but when I put the tracking number into FedEx, nothing pops up...I have a feeling I got scammed out of $75. If so, never using Ringside again.
