Default Will Cain's 10lbs advantage over Junior be significant in the fight?

Velasquez - 249
Dos Santos - 239

I think Cain is higher than normal (isn't he usually around 243ish?), and JDS is about the same as usual, maybe a couple of pounds heavier than usual.

Does this mean anything, or will weight not be an issue at all tonight?

not in this case since I think he is carrying too much weight, Cain should be 240lbs and below per his body frame. In a 5rd fight, I think it goes against him.

Velasquez is a tad heavier than usual , quite right , he does look to have a little extra body fat too , completeley genetic related , anybody buying into it that Velaquez is not in shape for 5 rounds should hang there head in shame

dos Sanots looks ****ing incredible , i mean if your looking at the guy you'd be right in thinking he's a ****in Roman times gladiator , he is a spectacular sight

Back to the original point , yes i do beleive it will be to Cain's adavantage , given he has a grappling style which to an extent relies on top control , how cannot it not benefit the guy to be 10 lb's heavier than his opponent , we know the extra 5-6 lb's isnt going to hurt his cardio so if the fight goes some distance i.e. rounds 3-5 , its gonna pay for Velasquez IMO , thats just common sense no ??

If it was Velasquez's intention to fight Junior the way he fought Brock (ie to stand with Junior), I think the extra weight will hinder him.

If it was Velasquez's intention to fight Junior the way he fought Kongo (ie to wrestle and maul Junior), I think the extra weight will help him.

I think his intention is the latter, so it should help him.

But I still think Cigano wins anyway.

Cain's arms are so short. What's his reach?

Cain looks a little softer, Junior is carved out of wood. I don't think it's going to make a lot of difference. They both fight at heavyweight, and I'm sure they've both fought guys who've outweighed them by a shitload more than 10lbs.

I think this favours JDS. He will be more quicker and help his TD defense.
