Attack more and pressed more forward in this fight. I mean he's been wanting this fight for years and when given the chance all he does is back peddle and counter. He did a great job of countering PAC though, he got the better of the exchange. But the point here is when you want a fight this bad you go in there to win the fight without leaving it to the judge to decide.

Look at all three fights: if Pac doesn't come forward, JMM just looks at him. When pac comes forward, JMM steps back and lands sharp combinations. The more Pac presses him, the better JMM does. He can't fight manny coming forward without getting hurt; however, this fight was the best because he didn't even try to step forward. Beautiful flawless performance, but these guys will always have the same fight over and over and over and at the end I always ask the same question, why can't Juan throw jabs in the spaces when Manny is just staying back? It was the same story in the last rounds in the last two fights, in my opinion.

he basically just waits for the opponent to make the move first, and does not attack |

^ Exactly.
JMM initiated a lot more exchanges than Pac did. Sure, he mostly did his counterpunching thing, but then that's what he's good at. I was amazed at just how much he DID come forward. - And he landed a hard blow almost every time. |

Still though, if he's been asking for this fight for years he shouldn't leave it to the judge. He's a great counter puncher but he's also a great fighter himself. He should have been more aggressive to get the judges attention. He probably lost the fight because he backed up too much which looked like he didn't want the fight that bad.

When you want a fight that bad you shouldn't leave it to SHOULDA. You need to convince that you really want to win this thing...win or lose. Marquez said he was willing to die in the ring but it didn't seems like that last night.

The majority of members gave every close round to JMM just because he was the underdog. That is simply not how you score a fight. Pac clearly won.
JMM dod not come forward more or throw more simply because he was scared to get knocked out. |
