Default Manny Pacquiao: A new breed of Speed, Quickness and Explosiveness

nov 12 we witnessed a new breed of boxer/athlete whose combination of speed, quickness and explosiveness requires new and advance type of motion cameras to accurately capture the punches thrown and landed on his opponents.

his agility and quickness allowed him to evade and/or block punches at astonishing speed where watching it on bare naked eyes is no longer enough.

a top level, elite athlete whose eyes are trained for top level anticipation and quickness, recently sat ringside, 3 feet away from action and has this to say:

"That was some s--- right there," Kobe says to a friend at ringside. "I wasn't even sure how many punches he was throwing. I just heard them."

speed and explosiveness fade. at his peak, he was a marvel- throwing punches at such velocity and frequency like i havent seen before. i hope those days are not gone for the pac monster.

i agree. but he put them to spend so much energy on defense that the opponents have not enough energy to spend on offense. result, their punches dont do damage.

So when is he gonna stop ducking Mayweather? Even his team is questioning him.

again, to a certain extent i agree. however the energy spend moving, circling for 12 rounds is so much there is not much left for offense.

plus certain type of movement, like circling to the left diminish the sting on your right straight. mosley confirmed this after the fight with pac. or you can try this yourself. its awkward to punch with the right while circling to the left.

pac commands the center of the ring, now you have to move, circle, step back to avoid his punches. that is not an easy task to do for 12 rounds.

you stand for split second, he explodes 3-4 punches on you. to do this you have to have solid, granite chin and complete understanding of inches and timing like jmm has. even then, he seldom trade, and only for very short stretches of the fight.

you move for 12 rounds, you wont be hurting pac. your only hope to win is to outpoint him. this isnt an easy task as he also uses his speed and agility to evade punches and/or block them.

props to jmm, he survived 12 rounds and not looked like mosley or clottey.

One of my favorite Pac gifs of all time! Even in slow motion time, Pac recovers from a flush shot from JMM to the chin in 2 seconds!

You are full of crap. This is no problem for a skilled counterpuncher. All you have to do is vary your movement and step correctly.

Slide the back leg back and left first rolling the shoulder toward the opponent. Fire off a jab to cover the attack. Slide the front leg out and left re-establishing your base. Drive the straight right into your opponent as he pivots to align himself. Roll and pivot out.

You Pactards just make this crap up.

Pac doesn't command anything. He commands picking shot, old, and perfect style opponents. Nothing more. He ALWAYS picks the loser. He messed up when he picked JMM.

Pac doesn't evade/block anything. Ask Clottey. Pac is right there to be hit by anyone prime. That is exactly why Pac won't face anyone prime, i.e., Mayweather.

Mosley is shot. Clottey was fixed. You call what JMM did "surviving"?

You are a Pactard.

powerful isnt the right word. explosiveness is. like mosley said. doesnt look like a hard is coming to you, pac doesnt load. his punches just explode in your face. like a small bomb detonated.

i think pac traded some of his power for speed and combo. you can see this the way he wams up and drill his punches on the mitts.
