After two tune ups I'd say Berto. Berto only struggles with pressure fighters

I'd imagine Broner could find a way to win.

berto gets a bad rap for going 1-3 for a stretch a couple of years back. But if you look at those fights, the results really doesn't tell the whole story.

berto ortiz- potential fight of the year. ortiz drops berto early...berto comes back and drops ortiz in the next round. then later in the fight, berto drops ortiz again and batters ortiz ...looks like ortiz is out on his feet and about to get ko'd....then ortiz lands a hail mary and drops berto...but berto gets up and the two go toe-to-toe for the final few rounds... very close fight in which both men took turns dropping each other and hurting each other.

berto-guerrero. this was one dirty fight...guerrero was allowed to get away with holding and hitting (the first knockdown)...then he thumbed berto (the second knock down) in the eye. by the time berto launched his counter attack, he was had one eye practically swollen shut and he was in a big hole. still he was able to snap guerrero's head back with hooks and uppercuts and give as good as he got down the stretch.

berto-soto karass. The fact that berto was able to go to the last round after dislocating his shoulder in the 4th round tells volumes about his toughness and bravery....and to top it off, he came close to knocking out soto karass late in the fight when most fighters would have long quit or gotten ko'd.

Ortiz was at his best for the berto fight...but it could have gone either way. i don't give the guerrero or soto-karass fights much credence, however.

Berto beats Broner. Berto is naturally much bigger than Broner. I also believe Berto hits harder and is much stronger. One thing about Berto is he still actually hasn't been outboxed. I think he would beat Broner.

Good post......

And most ppl for whichever reason, don't look at Guerrero with suspicious eyes......the guy came up in the previous fight with Aydin, in which he was thin in the chest/arms, and ran from Aydin for 12 rds, nearly getting KOd a few times.....whereas vs Berto.....suddenly Guerrero is the bigger fighter, he's got backne, chest acne, and he goes straight away into a slugfest with a guy known for his KO power and chin.

Berto is really short for the weight and has TRex arms. I don't know about "bigger" but Guerrero is a lengthier fighter than Berto. And while Berto deserves credit for his heart, he does not have a particularly great chin, has terrible defense, and generally fights in a stupid manner. If you let your hands go against Berto, as Ortiz, Guerrero, and JSK did, you're gonna find him. Even the journeyman guy Berto just fought had success against him and probably would have beaten Berto if he had shown a little more heart himself. Berto has simply never refined his boxing craft and since stepping up his competition it has cost him dearly.

All that ragging on Berto aside, I think he'd beat Broner. Broner doesn't have the punch to really bother Berto and is a smaller fighter like Berto at Welterweight so the length isn't a factor. Berto still has his handspeed and I don't think Broner's defense is good enough to avoid those fast hands.
