Don't know he was robbed per se, but maybe prevented from getting the clock-beating stoppage when the ref stepped in for a pedantic warning to Nevin while he was getting knocked about (having suffered a knockdown from a big left rip to the body with a minute to go and never quite recovering)

How was he robbed? Nevin racked up the points by outboxing him. A knockdown isn't worth any more than any other single shot under the amateur scoring system.

This

Don't know how the first was scored 5-5 when Nevin clearly won that as well. Irrelevant now anyway. Congrats

Robbed? You for real? Nevin cleary outboxed and was certainly up at the end of the first.. dont know how the refs scored that even! Do you even know what 'robbed' means?

Yes, for real, the Irish did nothing but running.

In the last 50 seconds.

For two rounds and change he was boxing effectively from the outside, not running.

I'm American and was rooting for Valdez Fierro by the end, but it was a fair result.

John Joe improving in every fight. I can't wait for the Cuban fight.
I couldn't believe the score after the first round, what were they watching

Given a gift? Are you serious? Learn how amateur boxing works before you coment on it! That was certainly no robbery you absolute clown! The Mexican made his own bed by walkin forward all the time, that might work in pro Boxing but amateur boxing is about hit and dont be hit. Nevin hit Valdez more than Valdez hit Nevin. Oh, and by the way, this is an Irish Boxing Forum.. that might have something to do with all the Irish here. **** off and learn a thing or two about Boxing before you comment on it, you stupid s.p.i.c. cunt!

Honestly, he could very well gold.

Getting by Alvarez is realistic, and sadly so is the more beatable Campbell getting a gift over Shimizu in the other semifinal.
