Oi, John Joe Nevin is playing matador with a Mexican in the bantamweight quarterfinals. He is probably about to place for at minimum a bronze.

Don't know he was robbed per se, but maybe prevented from getting the clock-beating stoppage when the ref stepped in for a pedantic warning to Nevin while he was getting knocked about (having suffered a knockdown from a big left rip to the body with a minute to go and never quite recovering)

How was he robbed? Nevin racked up the points by outboxing him. A knockdown isn't worth any more than any other single shot under the amateur scoring system.

This

Don't know how the first was scored 5-5 when Nevin clearly won that as well. Irrelevant now anyway. Congrats

In the last 50 seconds.

For two rounds and change he was boxing effectively from the outside, not running.

I'm American and was rooting for Valdez Fierro by the end, but it was a fair result.
