Lesnar beat several top heavyweights. You're talking nonsense. You're supposed to be a JMMA fan so that means you should know your Pride history. Hell the torch for toughest wrestler was literally passed from Herring to Lesnar. Herring beat all the toughest wrestlers int eh game in Pride. Herring took that title by stopping both Mark Kerr and Tom Erikson who were devastating wrestlers in the early days of mixed martial arts. Lesnar literally mauled him to become the latest and greatest version of that.

Lesnar's victories over Couture arguably the third greatest heavyweight of all time and Mir arguably becoming one of the top two or three greatest heavyweight submission specialists of all time and his comeback victory against Shane Carwin a rightful contender at the time mean the Brock's resume has more than enough top heavyweights on it. To say otherwise is pure denial.

If you mean top 10 HWs, then sure, no argument. Carwin, Herring(not so much when they fought), Mir and Couture were all top 10 heavys.

In terms of beating a guy who could have realistically been considered the best at the time I don't think so. Couture as a top 3 HW is ridiculous. How many legit HWs has he beaten? If you can count them with one hand then I don't know how you can hold to your statement.

Josh Barnett is on the card:

Quote:
The Inoki Genome Federation has found a spot for Strikeforce heavyweight Josh Barnett on the year-end show being co-promoted with Dream.

Barnett will engage in some professional wrestling with IGF regular Hideki Suzuki on the Dec. 31 card in Saitama, Japan, the Inoki group announced Tuesday. It's one of three IGF match-ups announced so far for the New Year's Eve show, in addition to several bouts in mixed martial arts.

Although U.S. audiences know Barnett primarily for competing in real mixed martial arts fights, he also has performed in Japan for years in predetermined bouts as a pro wrestler, sometimes working with other experienced mixed martial artists such as Don Frye, Bob Sapp, Naoya Ogawa, Ken Shamrock, David "Tank" Abbott, Tim Sylvia and Bobby Lashley. Barnett's most recent appearance for IGF came on a Dec. 2 show with Jerome LeBanner, a stalwart of kickboxing.

Strikeforce parent Zuffa hasn't always looked kindly on Barnett's other trade. The company refused to let him work an Aug. 27 event for IGF because the date was less than three weeks away from his MMA fight with Sergei Kharitonov in the semifinals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix. But the tourney final likely won't happen before March, so Barnett has plenty of time for other activities.

IGF is run by Antonio Inoki, a towering figure in Japanese wrestling. To take advantage of his enduring popularity, Dream brought in IGF to co-promote the New Year's Eve show and agreed to include pro-wrestling performances on the card.

Mixed martial arts and pro wrestling have crossed paths several times around the world since the early 20th century, but the ties are particularly deep in Japan. Modern MMA in that country sprang from pro wrestlers' desire to prove that their techniques could work in real fights.

It's a pity Barnett couldn't replace Rogers against Sylvia.

Couture was probably considered the 2nd best heavyweight in the world, behind Fedor, at the time he faced Lesnar. Even if you had Nogueira and Barnett ranked higher, Randy was still in the running.

As far as all time ratings are concerned, I personally think 3rd is too high for Couture. I do, however, have him at 5. That may change in the near future, but Couture has the resume to back up that spot currently.

He does, but he does not matchup up well H2H against a lot more people than in the all-time ranking for me. His longetivity is still unsurpassed none-the-less.
