we all seen 24/7 and i think the show is great but i didnt like the fact that it was only pacquiao and mayweather on it. then margarito vs cotto aired last week and has got alot of positive reviews from casual fans but i doubt they will buy it on PPV. anyways my point is i think they should give more fighters some spotlight on HBO. i would love to see a 24 /7 for Ortiz and Berto if they have a rematch. since its on HBO alot of people will watch it and might become fans. basicly all i want is for HBO to give the big fights a 24/7 series but unless its Mayweather and Pacquiao they really need to stop doing PPV.
my post probly doesnt make alot of sense cuz im tired as hell lol but what do y'all think? Should more fighters be on 24/7? and do u think it will boost boxing popularity? |

the PPV pays for the 24/7, it is taken out after the all the numbers are in. the fighter's and promoter pay for the show to try make more numbers in the PPV. HBO have between 35 to 40 million to make fights on the network. that is license fee's to promoters to make fights. HBO pay all the production costs on these fights.

It's not cheap to produce these 24-7s, which is why they've always saved them for major PPV fights. Berto-Ortiz doesn't qualify.
However, re-introducing those countdown shows (if they don't stretch the budget too much) for non-PPV fights, could work out pretty well. |

Sooo glad we almost have no PPV's on the European mainland...
Wonder why boxing is losing ground in the US while it's gaining momentum in Europe?

i have wrong assumption. i thought hbo shoulders 24/7 which can be covered then by the ads/sponsors. so youre saying now, its the fighers/promters who make risk/reward assessment on 24/7, if the ppv can pay for it? edit: you have ballpark figure fore 24/7? |
