I AM Legend does the same. Then again, you're both only nine years old, so it's probably expected.

PS. It's hardly surprising it was closer than expected, Evander could have hardly been motivated by such a nothing fight that had as much pre-fight buzz as Bowe-Ferguson. Well, there wasn't much to sell:

"HEY, REMEMBER THAT GUY WHO USED TO BE CHAMP, YEAH FOLKS, THE ONE NOBODY COULD STAND THE SIGHT OF...WELL, HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'S BACK!"
Did Larry earn the title shot unlike a certain other guy that was the age?

Also, I think we all know people would still piss and moan about Larry's comp even if he did fight and beat Page, Thomas, Coetzee, and Dokes.
You can only ever beat the best of your day, and Holmes didn't latter career. If he fought Page then a Witherspoon rematch with Thomas later he'd have a definite pass mark. Obviously he can't fight all of Weaver II, Witherspoon II, Page, Dokes, Coetzee and Thomas, but he didn't fight any of the damn buggers lol.

What about his shot vs Tyson then? How did he "earn" that one?

But he damn near fought Coetzee, the poster is on the ****ing wall of Larry's gym. The date was set for something like June 8th (or 6th) 1984.

At least he was active, which cannot be said for Larry. Tyson can pick and fight whoever, but if you want to call out "a certain other guy that was the age" then it's only fair the question is asked the other way.

Yep, just like the person in your avatar does. I'd laugh my ass off if those really worked.

No, its not ok, but people seem to ignore the fact that Tyson did that twice in a row and call them his best wins. I'm just getting picky now though, and rambling on.

Yeah, but that guy create a buzz for the fight that was huge (like his belly). Holyfield-Holmes was a nothing fight. George put bums on seats, Larry couldn't draw flies to shit.

That's true Bill. Poor Kenny Bounds lost a shotload of dough. The reason? He totally overestimated Holmes' clout at the box office. He figured that with the vast amount of flies in the world (Tsetse, Horse, Crane, Brundle, Rufus T. Firefly) and the big shit (Coetzee) that it would be an easy sell. Poor Kenny. He died after being bitten by a mosquito.* The cruel, ironic, hand of fate claims another victim.

* Probably.
