A fight between David Haye and Vitali Klitschko has moved a step closer after the Brit was handed a contract offer by the Ukrainian's team.

Haye confirmed this week that talks were ongoing about a March 3 battle with the WBC heavyweight champion - but said he had yet to receive a concrete offer. That has now materialised, and Haye must weigh up whether or not he wants to return to the ring.

He retired from boxing when he turned 31 on October 13, adding that he would contemplate a comeback if Vitali or his brother Wladimir, who beat Haye in July, were willing to do battle. Vitali has now put his hand up, having been angered by Haye's torrent of insults in the build-up to the Wladimir bout.

Adam Booth, Haye's manager and trainer, said to the Sun: "We have received a contract to fight Vitali Klitschko and our lawyers are looking at the details of what has been offered." The bout is expected to take place in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Vitali is being tipped to have one or two more fights before retiring to concentrate on full-time politics in Ukraine. He has won 43 of 45 contests, with 40 of those triumphs coming inside the distance - and in his most recent bout, against Tomasz Adamek who, like Haye, was at one point considered the planet's best cruiserweight, he won with ease.

I'll admit that Vitali pissed me off when he wouldn't fight Rahmen but seemed ready enough for Maskaev. I do not believe that Vitali is afraid of anyone, but whatever the cause of the behavior, it was bullshit.

As for Chisora, I think Wlad was trying to get better fights and yeah, it was also bullshit.

I am a fan but these where not classy moves.
