This is why this fight was so bad for Cotto. Excuses would be made about Margarito being shot, eye excuses, the works. From the time he announced the rematch, I knew win or lose, it would do nothing in the eyes of fans to restore credibility. Plaster or not, fists bust faces. It is not like Margarito wore beach balls at the end of his arms. This was just a man looking for personal revenge, and that he did regardless of how we all see it. Kudos to Cotto for overcoming personal demons and closing at least for now that dark chapter in his career.

He landed way less due to Cottos adjustments and being blind in one eye for most of the fight. Compare how many times cotto was hit in this fight by the 10th round and the 10th round in 08. Hell compare the fight in any rouind. If Marg had landed the same amount of shot as last time we could have had a more definite answer. Kudos for Cotto for fighting a freat fight. I still dont believe Margo had plaster.

Cotto had a broken nose early in their first fight. If you can't breathe you will get lethargic and eat some gloves. Had Cotto suffered a broken nose last night, it would have been over for him as well. For those guys bitching about Margo's eye, what would you have done? Feel sad for him? Margarito knew his eye was suspect, he should have trained to protect it. Do I think Margarito has loaded gloves? Only him and his corner knows. All I know is that if Cotto would have felt the same intensity in those punches last night, he would have froze. Sorry but Margarito has never been a smart fighter, he's just a zombie that beats you by wearing you out because of his superb stamina, not because he is talented.

Maybe you are being willfully ignorant of the fact that the Nevada Boxing Commission gives fighters a bag and nothing that isn't in that bag is allowed on the hands. Of course his gloves were loaded for the first Cotto fight, and more than likely even way before the first cotto fight. Does anyone remember how shit Mosley looked the fight he had just before fighting Margarito plus him being in his late 30's. If he loaded his gloves for that Mosley why in heavens would'nt he have loaded his gloves for an undefeated monster like Cotto at the time. Plus the rivalry of Mexicans vs Puerto Ricans runs deeper than us non mexicans, and non Puerto Ricans can ever imagine. I know this because i work with Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. The stakes were just too high for a cheating scumbag like Marg not to load his gloves.

I do believe Margo did use plaster in the first fight as I doubt it was the first time he use it was against Shane. But how much it help him to beat Cotto is debatable. Margo style gave him the edge over Cotto's style at the time. Cotto however learned from their first encounter and adjusted in the rematch. So even if Margo had plaster in the rematch, Cotto would still have beaten him.
