So he went to the army, came out after the war, was 100k in debt, made 600k from a fight, somehow after paying the 100k debt he was only left with less than 100k. He has a few more fight, making a few 100k's more, but somehow he ended up 500k in debt.

That don't even make sense.

i'm a big fan of Joe Louis and I did like that film, but why call it "america's hero betrayed?" I never got that. He wasted all his money and didn't pay his taxes, anybody else does that the IRS comes a knockin' too. So if you're the champ then you get a waiver? I don't get that. Being a champ or serving time in the Armed Forces does not give you a pass on tax burdens last I checked.

It is a good docu. I've seen it a couple times.

IMO, P4P Joe Louis is the man. He had a great ability to adapt on the fly.

well they took money from him and all the years he went and helped out the years he could have continued fighting adn made millions, that would have easily paid off his debt the govt didnt think about that and on top of that they taxed him at 90%! if thats not betrayel i dont know what it :(
