Double dose of good news for the heavyweight division.
Seems like the robbery had something to do with convincing Cammerelle to turn pro, so maybe the cloud had a silver lining. Hopefully, since he is 32, he will go on a very highly accelerated course. Helenius should be back in November. |

![]() Yeah, the headline is saying he's turning pro, but the article itself has nothing to back it up with. Sadly I doubt it happens. He's a very good and exciting fighter to watch. |

![]() The Scene is often a useful site, and good for getting quotes, but its articles are written in a tabloid style where the headline often does not match up with the content of the article. If Cammarelle was ever going to turn pro, he would have done it in 2008. I can't see why he would want to do it now, he earns a comfortable living with the police at the moment. |

Awesome news IRT Helenius.
Been looking for something for a while.....tx zxcvbm for the site info. I read that he was looking for any of three former champs for his return....Briggs, Chagaev, or WBF titlist, Grant. Let's hope its Chagaev.

He can go back to working for the police when he's done. There are potentially millions of dollars at stake. I hope Cammarelle goes pro (if only for a few years) and challenges Wlad. |

Ironic that the robbery caused him to make this decision.
I would think that if he had won the gold, it would have meant very lucrative opportunities in the pro ranks selling himself as Olympic champion. Not that Silver is anything to sneeze at, and he's already got an established enough name and reputation over so many years as a star amateur that he should still be able to land some decent paydays in whatever short window of time his aging body allows. |

What?! He already looked gassed in the 3rd round vs Joshua so the pro game doesn't really seem to suit him in that part.

That's why I'll be surprised if he DOESN'T go pro. With his reputation in place, he could probably get good paydays fighting out of Italy. And he can wait a year or two before chasing the best pros.

He doesn't fight for peanuts, he's well compensated and looked after by the police/government doing a job he really enjoys. Supposedly.

IMO, he should have went pro in 2008, not 2012. |
