From a historical standpoint he hasn't beaten anyone good but he has beaten the fighters who are this era's version of "good." Is he an ATG? Maybe number 100 or so.

His Resume is very poor. But sitting out your best years will have that effect.

Vitali is a coward? How many Professional Heavyweight Boxers did you beat up this year?

I think "very poor" is a bit far, though it depends on how you're rating him. If you think he's an ATG, it's a poor resume even if he'd fundamentally very talented. If you think he's a belt holder who was one of the best heavyweights of his era, then his resume is pretty good.

What a great name to add to your fantastic resume.

I thought knocking David Haye out was the new #1 priority over at Camp Klitschko. Or even chasing 46 year old Lennox Lewis for a rematch as a priority. But apparently pawing at blown up cruiserweight journeymen is still the top priority.

In the immortal words of Former Liberal Party Leader Stephane Dion...

I think you're like many of the chaps that decided once Vitali retired during 2004 that his resume was awful (back then you would have had a case) and have just stuck to that completely ignoring everything he's done since.

The bottom line a resume built up his wins against
Adamek
Solis
Briggs (former champion, past his best)
Juan Carlos Gomez
Peter
Sanders
Arreola
Kirk Johnson
Donald
Hide

On top of several other defences is very impressive. In fact standard wise it's not much different than Mike Tyson's, but I suppose you have him in your top 10 HW's no questions asked.

Vitali has a pretty solid resume, only biased fools fail to see that.

He's got plenty of good wins. He still needs to find a couple of signature wins, and that is looking very tough in this crap division.

Lets see him beat Haye this summer and see waht else he can come up with.

Can't call the man a coward. Who has he ducked? Don't see how it is his fault that most of the other heavyweights can't stay off the donuts and get in shape. Chisora is no blown up cruiser either, he's a legit heavy, coming off the back of a good showing against a big man people were tipping to threaten the K's.

Vitali hasn't lost a round in years, he's dominating anybody who gets in with him. What more can he do? I'd love to see him fighting against other greats - but there aren't any at the moment.

Also, I respect the fact that even at the age of 40 and fighting lesser guys he takes his job seriously and doesn't come in looking like a slob. If you want to fight for world titles you should at least be able to get yourself into career best shape.

He has an excellent resume considering he missed 4 potential HOFers and 2 ATGs during his prime.

Holy and Toney fights coulda got made from 04-08, as could Rahman, Byrd 2, Ruiz, and Valuev.

Add those to his resume and it's top 10 for shiz.

In a historical context, it isn't a really great one. He has been unfortunate like Larry Holmes was with not many great opponents for him to fight. In relation to his era, it's the best or second best to his bro's. You can only beat who's available, and Vitali has only lost a handful of rounds throughout his entire career and has the highest KO% of any heavyweight champ in history. Pretty hard to argue he is a shit fighter

Its unfortunate he never got the Lewis Rematch and there will always be what if questions surrounding that fight.
I would much rather the klitscko's with the titles than to think how many
Haye/Harrison or haye/ruiz, haye/Valuev trilogies not to forgetting he would even try a trilogy with HOLYFIELD could have been made.
