exactly.. as much as I rate Floyd in a boxing ring I can't see his fighting style working in MMA..

No way he would ever move over to MMA. The huge money makers in MMA don't even make what a fraction of Floyd does in his fights.

This is just way for Mayweather and Cuban do get their names out in the public again. No way this would ever happen.

AGREED...Floyd will be fighting jouneyman fighters that will probably get kod...boxers train to punch...mma train different styles but I bet if Floyd fights his punches will be a lot harder than his opponents...but he will have to worry about wrestling...

Floyd will fight 1 maybe 2 fights against no namers...ko them than back to boxing...

I wonder how far Mayweather could go in MMA if he really trained for it. I think if he got an amazing BBJ trainer and an amazing wrestling trainer and threw in some muay thai practice as well, he could certainly develop quickly and start by taking out some really soft touches. Whether he could go on from there and really compete at top level is less likely - but not to be ruled out.

Some of those bums are actually world class grapplers, BJJ submission experts & seasoned K1 fighters.

How would Floyd defend against takedowns or subs? How would he react to having his head held while a knee was lifted into his face? How would he defend against the ground & pound especially if elbows are allowed?

Floyd's only chance would be standing & striking and even then how much experience does he have defending against kicks?

There only chance would be to bull rush and get him on the ground. Stand toe to toe with him for a second at its over. He has world class speed and is the best boxer in the world. Some scrubby MMA schmuck wouldnt stand a chance. They do that kicking shit they catch a straight right lead, they try that grappling shit they get an uppercut to the jaw. They cant strike him, they cant kick him, so they try and bull rush, check hook into the side of the cage.

Boxing scrubs go to MMA, MMA scrubs dont go to boxing.

Boxers retiring broke, and punch drunk has made a mochery of boxing.
Floyd Mayweather has made the sport a business that benefits himself.
I hope the future of boxing is more smart business, and less killing yourself to make someone outside of the ring rich

If this is true, Floyd can go to hell. Boxing made him the highest paid athlete in the world this year. He should use his momentum to help the sport get back into the mainstream. Right now a fight with Cotto would be the biggest thing in sports besides the SUper Bowl. I don't hate mma, but I love Boxing. If he does this, regardless of the results, he will be remembered as a coward in the Boxing world, not in the class of Ray Leonard, and Ray Robinson. With, Cotto, Margorito, Cintron, and Clottey sitting there, if he leaves Boxing it looks like he is running. De La Hoya and Hatton to me were lambs for PBF, the lions are waiting.

If he wants to go to another fighting sport, then more power to him.

With serious training, I don't see why he couldn't be pretty good at it. He IS a great athelete, afterall.

Heck, Chuck Lidell was known for his striking ability and he always tried to stay standing up. He's a great sprawler and stays on his feet and always tries to just stand up and strike. He is a HORRIBLE striker, yet rose to the championship fighting with this method. Why is it impossible to think that someone who is a MUCH better athelete with much quicker reflexes couldn't also learn to sprawl and avoid take-downs?
