Default Is Power everything in boxing?

Is Power everything in boxing? It seems like alot of fans think power is everything but I don't think it is. I think speed, defense, and good footwork beats power. I think power is overrated in boxing.

Power isn't over rated. It is valuable. But actually skills are in front of everything.

It means very little actually, but combined with other assets it becomes very valuable.

It's one winning tool, ideally used in conjunction with an entire toolkit. It can be relied on by itself, but shouldn't - as no single tool should.

It may be - in fact, probably often is. But the most exciting fighters, imo, are those who can end a fight with one punch, even if they lose every round.

And, when it comes down to it, alot of fans watch boxing for the excitement, not necessarily to see good technique or skill. That's just reality.

Well, obviously it's eye-catching. But what's crowd-pleasing and what wins fights do not always run perfectly parallel.

It's not everything but it definately tends to be the deal breaker. Your more likely to hear about a guy who knocks everyone out as opposed to some feather fisted defensive fighter.

yeah power def isnt needed to be great in boxing.

the problem with not having power is that fans consider you a boring fighter to watch.

Look at fighters like Paulie Malignaggi and Juan Diaz. There good fighters and they don't have power. I think that a high work rate and speed makes fights just as exciting as 1 punch.
