Odds should not be that high on taylor, he hasnt fought in 2 years and on that occasion he was brutally knocked out. We dont know how much, if anything he has left

Bow down and kiss my feet, buddy.

The real-life odds are 1/40 - 1/50 on JT (with Nicklow - a passing fair journeyman ten years younger and far more active than JT - paying between 15/1 - 20/1)

I hooked us up big-time. (partly due to agreeing with your sentiment and partly because it isn't even worth making a thread for odds that long. This ShoBox doubleheader next week is really the last opportunity for vCash to be spent in 2011. So tightening the odds on JT even to 1/15 is my little Merry Xmas to everybody. )

750 on Taylor and 7 on the under.

This Nicklow guy better be a certified bum.

He was stopped only once, on ShoBox by Fernando Guerrero (and that was a standing referee stoppage, while they were trading shots toe to toe - Nicklow was just eating more. He did get dropped and shaken up by a right hand earlier in the round but Guerrero was unable to really finish him off with a punctuation mark) - over whom he has a couple of amateur victories.

Tough bastard, and not unskilled. That under might be a venus fly trap...

Taylor has had a longer layoff than Dirrell, had arguably the more serious health concerns (although both had cerebral trauma), is draining down to a weight he reportedly couldn't make when he was a few years younger than he is now, and is in with a better opponent in Nicklow than Dirrell has in Cunningham. It's ridiculous that the sportsbooks have Taylor a much wider favorite than Dirrell. (almost twice as wide, actually)

So yeah, y'all are quite welcome for me fixing that and adding some value back in here. (with all things being relative, if we're calling 1/15 value )

Not gonna bother betting on this, but is there gonna be threads for Uchiyama-Solis and Caballero-Hosono?

Probably, but not until after my return from vacation (the 27th).

I round down to an even 24k by betting 400 and change on Nicklow and 1000 on the under.

I don't care if I lose, in fact I expect to lose. But Taylor has been away from the game for a long time, and looked bad on his way out years ago.

Nicklow appears to be a half-decent fighter. If he pulls the upset I'll make a little bit, especially if he lands a big stoppage early. Or if Taylor looks really impressive and makes a statement by stopping him early, I make a few grand.

But no way would I load up on Taylor at seven cents on the dollar under these circumstances.
