But two of the three best fights of the weekend ( In my opinion ) were untelevised in the USA! And those were Juan Jose Montes Vs. Oscar Ibarra, 12 rounds in Guadalajara, Mexico, An all out war between two determined mexican warriors, Maybe not a FOTY canidate but Fight of the month at least. Another entertaining bout was Ermano Fegatilli Vs. Antonio De Vitis, 12 rounds in Piemonte, Italy, Fegatilli and De Vitis put up a close and entertaining battle until Round 7 when the fight was stopped due to a De Vitis cut caused by a Headbutt, Fegatilli won a Majority Technical that I thought De Vitis had won myself but it was a very close fight so I will defiantly not oppose it. It was just a competeive all action fight that I myself am going to rewatch since I was watching Huck-Povetkin at the same time when I saw it!

The other good fight this weekend Marco Huck Vs. Alexander Povetkin, 12 Rounds in Germany, A close and entertaining bout between Heavyweights, Yes you heard correctly, A HW war, This bout was luckily televised by EPIX in the USA and turned out to be a real show of heart by both men that resulted in a Majority decision win for Povetkin that some thought Huck won, It was close.

The best fights are the least notable, I recommend you view all these fights listed, Very good and entertaining all of them.

After watching all of them what do u think is fight of the weekend?? I pick Montes-Ibarra, A real show of heart by both, Constant action. Huck-Povetkin second and closely behind Fegatilli-De Vitis at third.

2/3 - Ovill Mckenzie Vs. Tony Dodson - Commonweath Title 12x3 ( Boxnation Fight Night ) Mckenzie TKO3 (Dodson lying helpless in the ropes)
2/3 - Isaac Chilemba Vs. Edision Miranda - 10x3 ( ESPN 2 FNF ) Chilemba UD (97-91/96-92/96-92 Both had one point deducted at the same time. I had it 95-93)
2/3 - Hylon Williams Jr Vs. Rances Barthelemy - 8x3 ( ESPN 2 FNF ) Barthelemy UD (80-72/79-73/79-73 I had it 79-73 too)
2/4 - Steve Cunningham Vs. Yoan Pablo Hernandez - 12x3 ( ARD Fight Night/Boxnation ) Hernandez UD (116-110/116-110/115-111) Like in the 1st bout USS was down and clearly very hurt early -down twice in 4- recovered and came back very well. He was in trouble again in the 12th but survived. Scoring was all over the place in IB's RbR, but I had it close but clear for Yoan.
2/4 - Alexander Alexeev Vs. Enad Licina - 12x3 Vacant EBU Title ( ARD Fight Night/Boxnation ) Alexeev UD (118-110/116-112/118-112 My first wrong pick of the weekend... Alexeev outboxed Licina clearly over 12)
I thought O'Connor scored it for Licina at first (German broadcast) but he was just less off as usual
2/4 - Eduard Gutneckht Vs. Viacheslav Uzelkov - 12x3 EBU Title ( ARD Fight Night/Boxnation ) Gutknecht UD (115-114/116-112/117-111 Uzelkov clearly the stronger guy, and Gutknecht the typical German boxer outboxing the Ukranian)
2/4 - Nonito Donaire Vs. Wilfredo Vazquez Jr - 12x3 Vacant WBO Bantumweight title ( HBO ) Donaire SD (112-115/117-110/117-110, closer fight as expected but in no way it was a Vasquez bout who was down in the 9th and hurt several times) I had it 116-111 Donaire who hurt his left hand
2/4 - Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Vs. Marco Antonio Rubio - 12x3 WBC Middleweight title ( HBO ) Chaver jr. UD (118-110/116-112/115-113) Jr. was walking Rubio down all night and landing the better punches. I'm still no Chavez jr. fan, but I've changed my mind about him! (116-112 by me)
2/4 - Scott Quigg Vs. Jamie Arthur - 12x3 BBBofC British Title ( Sky Sports ) Quigg TKO8 (weird stoppage, after Quigg being down himself in the 4th)

2/10 - Luis Alberto Lazarte vs. Johnriel Casimero - 12x3 Interim IBF Light Flyweight Title (TyC Sports) Casimero TKO10
2/11 - Samuel Vargas vs. Manolis Plaitis - 10x3 (Boxing Channel) Vargas KO1

2/17 - Mike Dallas Jr. vs. Miguel Gonzalez - 10x3 (ESPN 2 FNF) - Dallas UD
2/17 - Thomas Dulorme Vs. Aris Ambriz - 10x3 (Showtime Shoebox)
Dulorme TKO1
(Ambriz down twice, completely overmatched by Dulorme's power and accuracy)

2/18 - Adonis Stevenson vs. Jesus Gonzales - 12x3 IBF Inter-Continental Title Super Middleweight Title (Canada PPV) - Stevenson KO1 (according to Intentional, so obviously right)
2/18 - Eledier Alvarez Vs. Otis Griffin - 12x3 WBC Latino Light Heavyweight Title (Canada PPV) - Didnt count
2/18 - Brian Magee vs. Rudy Markussen - 12x3 Interim WBA Super Middleweight Title (Denmark TV 3/ Boxnation?) Magee KO5 (bodyshot. didn't see the fight myself... ask Beastside for the details)

2/18 - Vitali Klitschko Vs. Dereck Chisora - 12x3 WBC Heavyweight Title (EPIX/Boxnation/RTL)
Vitali UD12 (118-110/118-110/119-111 Chisora is clearly insane, but kept on coming eating right hands all night showing a tremendous chin and having occasional succes too... spitted water in Wlad's face in the ring. Clearly the most dangerous British heavyweight of the post Lewis era)
2/18 - Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - 12x3 (Showtime) - Williams UD (120-108 x3 unoamsayin'. A real win this time unoamsayin', PeeWee outboxed Ishida down the stretch unoamsayin')
2/18 - Tavoris Cloud vs. Gabriel Campillo - 12x3 IBF Light Heavyweight Title (Showtime) - Cloud Robbery SD (115-111/110-116/112-114 Campillo down twice but gave Cloud fits in the rest of the rounds! TERRIBLE ROBBERY!!!)
2/18 - Chris Arreola vs. Eric Molina - 12x3 (Showtime) - Arreola KO1 (Like expected, but directly after being hurt himself!)
2/18 - Jorge Arce vs. Lorenzo Parra - 10x3 (Azteca) - Arce KO

2/19 - Garth Wood vs. Sam Soliman - 12x3 Interim IBF Pan Pacific Middleweight Title - Soliman UD

2/24 - Juan Carlos Burgos vs. Cristobal Cruz - 12x3 (ESPN 2 FNF) - Miniburgos UD 96-92/96-92/98-90 (last score by **** judge Pierre Benoist of course!) Nice fight, wwith Cruz chasing and being out of balance troughout the fight, knocked down in the 6th but came back nice late in the fight scoring a KD for himself in the 9th and ending strong. War Miniburgos!!!
2/25 - Alexander Povetkin vs. Marco Huck - 12x3 WBA Heavyweight Title (EPIX/Boxnation/ARD) - Povetkin MD - 114-114/116-113/116-112 Huck kinda exposed Povetkin in this bout. who was in trouble multiple times in the bout Both hit eachother full after the bell in round 11, with a bad referee (I had it 115-113 Huck! Crowd wasn't pleased ) Better quality of fighters doesn't always make the best fights... Rematch please!
2/25 - Ermano Fegatilli vs. Antonio De Vitis - 12x3 EBU Super Featherweight Title (Sportitalia) - Fegatilli T-MD 57-57/58-56/58-56 Di Vitis was cut badly from what was deemed an accidental headbutt. Fight was stopped before the 7th round.
2/25 - Nathan Cleverly vs. Tommy Carpency - 12x3 WBO Light Heavyweight Title (EPIX/Boxnation) - Cleverly UD - 120-108 3x Karpency wasn't supposed to be there, he's hardly journeyman level. Cleverly was shoeshining him a couple of times and won every round easy but couldn't stop him.... Time to fight a real contender Nathan!!!!
2/25 - Denis Shafikov Vs. Lee McAllister - 12x3 EBU Light Welterweight Title (Sky Sports) - Shavikov RTD7 - Like expected Shavikov has given McA the shaft! hand injury according to McA.
2/25 - Juan Jose Montes vs. Oscar Ibarra - 12x3 WBF & IBF International Super Flyweight Titles - Montes UD - 117-109/116-111/114-113 In a all out war! Ibarra got a point deducted for a heabutt. Ask IB for details, because I was already asleep by then.
2/25 - Marcos Rene Maidana vs. Devon Alexander - 12x3 (HBO) - Alexander UD - 100-90/100-90/99-91 Alex clearly outboxed Maidana, and looked far better as in his recent bouts. He should have had a KD in 6, but ruined that himself by pushing Marcos down while he was already going... not a robbery win this time, I scored it 99-91!
2/25 - Adrien Broner vs. Eloy Perez - 12x3 WBO Super Featherweight Title (HBO) - Broner TKO4 - Perez out of his dept, "Problemchild" Broner put on another Floyd impersonation and outboxed Perez until the right hand landed and his "pops" brushed his hair again, wich almost made me trow up.
He was talking about all kinda Cans at the post fight interview... Everybody is a can, Ameri-cans, Mexi-cans etc...

ROBNEYS SMALL WEEKEND RECAP:

First of all, Juan Carlos Burgos dissapointed this weekend. There was no question who won the fight, but it was too close for comfort and he got into real trouble at the end.
Let's hope it was just a bad day, or a bad matchup for him.

If anyone thought Povetkin could be any kind of threat for the Klitschkos then last night will probably changed their minds.
Crude cruiserweight Marco"Capt'n Caveman" Huck pushed him to the edge (or like many saw it over it), and he was lucky to leave Germany with his paper belt in his posession.
Maybe Alexander just had a terrible off-day, but I fear the worst.

Nathan Cleverly put on a clinic last night defending his WBO LHW belt, but unfortunately for him he did that against a guy who shouldn't have been there in the first place and he couldn't even stop Karpency wich should tell you enough.
Cleverly should finally step up, but probably won't cut it against world level.

Adrian "The Problemchild" Broner continued his Floyd wannabee act (complete with style and attitude) with an impressive win over overmatched Eloy Perez. He even stopped him in round 4, although not with a suckerpunch like his hero.
"Pops" had to brush his hair again and we now know "Problemchild" probably gets his wish, cause a lot of the *****s will instantly convert to Bromos when Floyd loses, retires, goes to jail or whatever. While others start to hate his guts.

Devon "Finally looked great" Alexander had probably the best night of his boxing career last night, or at least his best night in a while.
He didn't needed the hometown (Missouri) judges to save him this time around, cause he soundly beat Marcos Maidana and even knocked him down at one point in the fight (wich didn't count, because he gave him a push down before he went).
So after 3 consecutive losses (from wich he got only one), he finally showed what the hype was about a couple of years ago.

RESULTS:

2/24 - Juan Carlos Burgos vs. Cristobal Cruz - 12x3 WBC Silver Super Featherweight belt (ESPN 2 FNF)
Miniburgos UD 96-92/96-92/98-90 (last score by **** judge Pierre Benoist of course!) Nice fight, wwith Cruz chasing and being out of balance troughout the fight, knocked down in the 6th but came back nice late in the fight scoring a KD for himself in the 9th and ending strong. War Miniburgos!!!

2/25 - Alexander Povetkin vs. Marco Huck - 12x3 WBA Regular Heavyweight belt (EPIX/Boxnation/ARD)
Povetkin MD - 114-114/116-113/116-112 Huck kinda exposed Povetkin in this bout. who was in trouble multiple times in the bout Both hit eachother full after the bell in round 11, with a bad referee (I had it 115-113 Huck! Crowd wasn't pleased )
Better quality of fighters doesn't always make the best fights... Rematch please!

2/25 - Denis Shafikov Vs. Lee McAllister - 12x3 EBU Light Welterweight Title (Sky Sports)
Shavikov RTD7 - Like expected Shavikov has given McA the shaft! hand injury according to McA.

2/25 - Nathan Cleverly vs. Tommy Karpency - 12x3 WBO Light Heavyweight Title (EPIX/Boxnation)
Cleverly UD - 120-108 3x Karpency wasn't supposed to be there, he's hardly journeyman level. Cleverly was shoeshining him a couple of times and won every round easy but couldn't stop him.... Time to fight a real contender Nathan!!!!

Antonio Di Vitis - Ermano Fegatill - EBU Super Featherweight Title
Fegatili T-MD57-57/58-56/58-56 Di Vitis was cut badly from what was deemed an accidental headbutt. Fight was stopped before the 7th round.
Thanks to Malden!

2/25 - Adrien Broner vs. Eloy Perez - 12x3 WBO Super Featherweight Title (HBO)
Broner TKO4 - Perez out of his dept, "Problemchild" Broner put on another Floyd impersonation and outboxed Perez until the right hand landed and his "pops" brushed his hair again, wich almost made me trow up.
He was talking about all kinda Cans at the post fight interview... Everybody is a can, Ameri-cans, Mexi-cans, Afri-cans etc...

2/25 - Marcos Rene Maidana vs. Devon Alexander - 10x3 (HBO)
Alexander UD - 100-90/100-90/99-91 Alex clearly outboxed Maidana, and looked far better as in his recent bouts. He should have had a KD in 6, but ruined that himself by pushing Marcos down while he was already going... not a robbery win this time, I scored it 99-91!

2/25 - Juan Jose Montes vs. Oscar Ibarra - 12x3 WBF Super Flyweight Title
Montes UD - 117-109/116-111/114-113 In a all out war! Ibarra got a point deducted for a heabutt. Ask IB for details, because I was already asleep by then.
