what exactly would be his duties as president?
i imagine he rings the fighters wherever they may be in the world and offers a particular fight to them?
spokesman for the ufc obviously.
anything else?

I might not always agree with him but at least he gets in front of the camera and says it. Not sure if I can say the same for the head of the FA or Tennis or NFL etc

They're all on it including Rogan. Lorenzo's the worst though. Typical meat heads.

Dana even admitted that he took steroids
"Yes. There was a doctor here in Vegas when I was in high school; you went to his office and said you wanted to try his 'weight gain' program. ... Injections and pills. Pretty soon I felt strong. Superhuman. But I wasn't comfortable with it."

I have never seen a promoter be so honest to the fans as Dana is.

I really respect that he's willing to step out and say "That event I just put on turned into a fiasco, I'm pissed about it, I'm embarrassed that the fans got ripped off, and I'm going to make it up to them."

The guy really gives a shit about the fans. That much is very, very clear.

Doesn't really matter to me though. I'm a fan of Zuffa's product not the promoters' personalities.

I have to agree with all this.
Dana is a nasty piece of work.

one thing about Dana love em or hate him he says it the way it si, he's the one who does the tough work when it comes to dealing with agents etc. everybody thinks it's a breeze but when your dealing with all thoses people it's not easy. He has a potty mouth which offends alot of people and as it should especially if he's getting serious about getting mainstream with fox etc.

The way Dana tells it like it is, is a good way to run the UFC. But it should be behind closed doors. The way he speaks without BS and can be blunt and rule with an iron rod is deffinately the way it should be done. But why does he have to be the public face of the company? The only other business model that is like this with a public CEO of a combat 'sports' company that gets involved in feuds and all that stuff is like that Vince Mcman from the WWF. I just think there will be a lot of punters that are kind of in the wilderness now boxing is so appaling that could be drawn to UFC but it all looks a bit fake because of the way the UFC is presented via dana.

I love it when Dana comes out and gives the fans some straight talk. He gives credit where credit is due, and slams people who don't want to work with him. And if the UFC underperforms, he's the first to say "We gotta do better than that." He'll call it like it is to an extent I've never seen a promoter go.

He's a long way from perfect and he's made some calls I disagree with, but big picture-wise I think he's pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to the sport of MMA.

I feel like Lorenzo would make a better figurehead for the UFC. Seems the more rational of the two, anyway. Dana loves the spotlight, though. I don't see him giving that up anytime soon.

You rarely ever see Frank Fertitta, I've noticed.
