Default Bigfoot coming to the UFC?

Saturday, January 7, 2012 10:09

Rodrigo Minotauro revealed on Saturday in his weekly column in the Rio newspaper Extra, Antonio Silva is close to his debut in the UFC. The debut gonna be April at an event to confirm. The opponent would be none other than Cain Velasquez, former heavyweight champion and just lost his belt to Junior Dos Santos in November.

Bigfoot v Cain is a great fight. It'll be interesting because I don't think Cain has the boxing to pull a Cormier on him so he'll need to take it to the ground. It'll be interesting to see how Cains wrestling looks against a guy the size of Bigfoot.

This is a fight that realistically Cain could loose. Bigfoot is very good on the ground and has canned hams for fists. And despite his KO loss to Cormier he does have a decent chin. Cains got his hands full literally. All the physical advantages are with Big Foot.

Definitely. Cormier won the fight by utilising his incredibly fast hands which Bigfoot couldn't keep up with. He did get laid out eventually but the number of clean, hard shots he took was sick. It really is going to be test of how good Cains wrestling is. Werdum managed to just out-jits Bigfoot but I've never seen him out-wrestled.

big foot is a good match up for velasquez, piss poor stand up and as slow as a slug cain will dismantle him standing with superior speed similar to how he did against nog and no chance big foot gets him to the mat

This should be a great year for hw's considering they will all be after 1 belt, with Bigfoot now and assuming cormier and barnett, del rosio, karitonov all join in. The division is as deep as it's ever been considering it was always the weakest.

the thing that intrigues me is that cain will have to punch up unless he tries to chop at his legs...i think silva gives cain more trouble than most think

I doubt that very much. Look at who Brock got as his come back fight. This is the big leagues. You either piss or you get off pot. The UFC can't afford to put on crappy bouts.

Sorry I meant Mir vs Velasquez, but Mir vs Bigfoot would also be interesting

Personally i think Big Foot is going to brutalise him. We've seen Cain hurt vs Kongo and hurt and stopped by a better puncher in JDS. The problem JDS and Cain have is their lack of experience. Much like Carwin and Brock they're both learning on the job. Silva is good on his feet and on the mat. Plus once hydrated he's a monster of a man and literally a 'giant' of the Acromegalic kind.
