Default Why no small Russian fighters?

We are seeing a lot of big Russian heavies flood into the boxing scene but no boxers in the lighter weight classes. What gives?

Don't they have smaller guys over there?

There's quite a few in the smaller weight classes... the reason I think you see more dominant Russian HW's compared to other countries HW's is the fact that big, tall, athletic Americans and Euros are going into better paying sports that don't involve getting punched in the face.

No, Russia have a lot of great smaller fighters in the amateurs. Cuba is pretty much the only country that got more great fighters.
