Default Cotto/ Pacquiao and Free Agency

I was just thinking about this that Pac really needs to leave Arum. Now you're thinking "duh" unless your dodong or another Arum nut rider. But Cotto is a free agent right now and can fight whoever he wants. Same with Mosley. They have no promoter and can fight whoever they want really. Plus they can keep a higher percentage of the money they receive.

Now the main reason I'm voicing this is because I was thinking how Cotto is a free agent now, but he's at the status now that he doesn't really need a promoter anymore because his name is big enough. Some of you idiots say, yeah Arum helped build up Pac and build up Floyd. Well yeah, a promoter is good for an up and coming fighter.

Fighters like Jose Benavidez need a promoter. Mike Jones needs a promoter. Timothy Bradley needs a promoter. Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Miguel Cotto don't. The only thing difficult with Cotto and Pac is they don't speak english well and don't have personalities that attract viewers.

Bobtard- " Arum helped create Pac"

Well he doesn't need him anymore and he's robbing his ass.

he doesn't even need to leave him. he just needs to switch to free agent status where he works with a promoter on a fight by fight basis. That way he can use up the top rank stable, and have the power to have another promoter promote him in case bob doesn't want to.

From Michael Marley. Interview with Rafael "Cobra" Mendez on how Manny will stick to Arum and Koncz like glue

Edit: Said he Worships Koncz and Will do whatever Arum tells him. Note he has worked with Top Rank and Golden Boy

on the other hand having the best promoter in the world still couldn't make manny want to fight Floyd. The filipinos can't even make him want to fight Floyd.

If Pac breaks his contract with Arum now it's unlikely he'd be able to fight again in the United States, or fight again period. Look what happened with Nonito, he thought he was smart in doing what you're suggesting, he had to go crawling back to Arum as it stalled his career. Plus what kind of message will it be sending people as member of his country's government for Pacquiao to blatantly fail to honor a contract and obligation he signed on for only a year or two ago?

nonito stupidly followed pacquiao's footsteps by signing a contract to gbp while still under terms with top rank. There's a technique to buyout of the contract. The people of the phillipines would feel safer knowing one of their leaders is smart.

How much would it cost to buy out his contract, considering Pac's fights generate in the tens of millions in revenue? I thought Pacquiao only had a few million in the bank?

And it won't prove he is smart. It will prove to the contrary, that he is a dumbass mofo who will sign anything and is a flip flopper who doesn't honor his obligations. If he was going to leave he should have done it when his last contract was up.

if Pac chooses to be free agent as far as promoter goes, that would mean he would need a manager (maybe Finkel) who get's the standard 30%.

in reality, he would just be changing pimps just like floyd.

Didn't he already do this before though, years back, when he signed a contract or deal with Golden Boy while already being under contract to Top Rank?

can you prove the underlined part?

even floyd needs GBP for the past 5 years that's why he fights only for GBP.
