Default Brock Lesnar was 100% going into UFC 141, Overeem was a better fighter

Again, Suck on that Overeem haters

Brock Lesnar was never a scrub, and shame on you for even suggesting it after his loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. Let's not forget Lesnar provided the second greatest beatdown that anyone has ever seen in MMA history when he shoved his oversized toaster-hands into Frank Mir's face an innumerable amount of times at UFC 100. It was the most dominant, legal mauling I've seen since that dude from The Golden Child crushed that little pepsi can dude. That was unnecessary. I'm sincerly happy you died later on in the movie 'Pepsi can dancing dude' crusher.
Actually, Brock Lesnar's win over Frank Mir at UFC 100 is second only to the beating Fedor Emelianenko put on Heath Herring at Pride 23. After Fedor connected the first overhand right, Heath Hearing goes into 'emergency survival' mode for the remainder of the round. It's sheer brutality against a seemingly defenseless man. Go watch that fight if you feel like being depressed for the rest of the day.
In [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]with Dana White, he claims Lesnar 'never felt so good' in his life after his successful surgery from diverticulitis and that even though he had the 'best training camp,' Alistair Overeem was just 'that much better' than him.
Before you listen to the interview below, look at that banner picture. It appears Alistair Overeem's right nipple is elongated and 3D. It looks like Alistair Overeem's nipple is growing a nose. It's like Overeem exists in real-life except for his nipple, which is trapped in a Nintendo 64 world of being expressed in a disproportionate cylindrical polygon. Man, what the heck is that? I'm going to have nightmares about that thing later tonight.

Thread title ran out of space I'd imagine. Should say Alistair was just a better fighter.

A guy with almost no experience against a guy with decades of experience, whos the same monster size, whos well rounded and is a K1 striker

Yet so many morons picked Lesnar to win. Haters gonna hate

Forget the illness. Lesnar could never have won this fight

It bothers me that people use the illness as an excuse.

This version of Overeem beats the best version of Lesnar, but if you think the illness didnt effect Brock you've lost the plot. Try having a foot of colon removed and see if you can get yourself into the same condition you were beforehand.

As far as these things go, it bothers me that people come up with all kinds of excuses for Fedor, Shogun etc, yet they laugh at Brock, who had more serious health problems BY FAR than ANY of these guys who get free passes. I mean, Brock's health problems are like Big Nog getting run over by that truck and having that surgery at age 31 instead of age 7.

Shogun was a walking corpse against Jones because of his injuries and surgeries, but Brock lost to Cain and Overeem because he sucks.

And when I say it bothers me, it doesn't really, but I find the blatant hypocracy and double standards somewhat annoying.

My man crush is Mark Wahlberg actually

No , your man crush blinds you of Overeem's weaknesses and any logic when discussing striking for MMA

I accept Overeem's weaknesses, he is slower than JDS and has a shaky chin. When it comes to this fight that's it.

You still haven't explained to me why it is so different?

Oh seriously man come on !!! ok lets try and tie this down as best i can in leymans terms

Striking is striking i agree , in what ever capacity striking an opponent does not change , when your trying to become an effective striker in MMA , i.e. your taking that particular discipline into MMA as your strong point you need to develop that game for being effective in MMA not a " pure striking environment " like muay thai , kick boxing , karate or boxing , there's a huge difference there , you change your stance (something Overeem has done) , you change your timing in terms of when to commit and over commit , which can sometimes lead to over caution or wrecklesness , you change the fundamentals of combination punching to suit the grappling aspect of the sport , in terms of being offensive with your TD's (BJ Penn , St Pierre , Rashad Evans , Dominik Cruz etc etc etc) and in terms of being defensive and keeping a fight standing (Chuck Liddell (wrestling) , Shogun (excellent in the clinch , sick butterfly guard) , Anderson Silva (distance control & timing) and so on ...................

This transition comes naturally to some fighters , i.e. dos Santos , he has developed a style in the sport where he dominates a fight with range , speed , timing , and key decision making when attacking , this makes him a dangerous striker for MMA , because he's worked out the intangibles that require him to be a good striker in the sport i.e. the true fundamentals

I do not beleive Overeem has done this to the level of Jr , i simply dont , FYI that list above is much more extensive but i think that tells you what im getting at right ???
