Age has nothing to do with it..............just look at mandy taking on the US at 35 yrs old & apparently just peaking. Seriously though it all depends on the style of the fighter & the way he lives his life throughout his career.

Here's one kicking off his pro career @ 40. Anthony is also co-promoting

I believe he's had something like 70 amateur fights.

Thanks! I've flicked email to local Commission's bossman Tom Hunter & ANBF's Tom Ferrauto, but so far no reply.

for instance people complain about guys like shannan taylor fighting on but i have no problem watching him because hes not chasing world titles against genuine killers anymore.
Tend to agree.

I'm yet to hear from SA's Government Compliance Officer Tom Hunter (Senior officer within Sports & Rec), who would have to be present, as he does at all combat sports in the State.
Maybe he wasn't aware of it 'til my email message........He might also be on annual leave ??

Ah, i think you'll find that after a certain layoff ( i9n the years, perhaps four) one can return to the ams. I don't know about when one is pushing 60 though as the am cut of limit for age is 34.

The fact Frank might've fought a 28 year-old, suggests it wasn't a legit AM masters tournament...& quite possibly illegal if it happened . Wait & see I guess

If you are in your 40s and losing regularly someone close to you with your interests at heart should be giving you the tap on the shoulder.

A number of guys that were fighting in days of Festival Hall in Melbourne & Brisbane should've got a tap on the shoulder there & then.

Over the years, quite of them hassled me to change their record KO to TKO 'cos they weren't out cold, albeit one punch away from possible death
Given there was no such thing as TKO in those days, I naturally declined.

P.S. To this day, in State of New South Wales there still ain't such thing as TKO decision, but Authority allows Boxrec to convert if need be.

Read an article recently where the bureaucrat making the call on an over 40 year old guy's career told him to go home, bring back his wife and kids, and have them convince him the guy should fight on. Apparently the guy left his office and never returned.

Frank's opponent was Phil Miller, who is in his mid 40's
It was Masters Games @ West Adelaide Football Club in November.
