I wish I were, then I would be getting paid for this.

Sadly, I'm not.

We have the fight on May 5 if Pac (i.e. Arum) wants it.

But they don't. It's clear as the day is light and the night is dark.

Let's be serious here.

It's one thing to be a fan of a fighter.

It's another thing to be an irrational fan.

In another article on the same site, it says that Team Floyd is NOT looking at Sergio for May 5, 2012. Not sure if this was another botched comment by Team Floyd (as was the Ellerbe/Floyd contradiction on fighting Sergio at a catchweight), who may have not realized Sergio is fighting Macklin on March 17, or if there were just second thoughts. Or something else.

Hopefully, with Arum clarifying matters, Team Floyd will consider moving off the May 5, 2012 date in order to make the superfight happen.

Unless, that is, they want to risk being seen as ducking Pacquiao (again?) by the public.
Did he just say that?

It's the truth. On all counts. I'm not working for Top Rank or Arum, and it would be great to be getting paid to do this.

Only paul and pactards are buying this bullshit. Saving face, the end of that article said it all "unless he wants to be seen as ducking pac" we all know who keeps coming up with excuse.

Arum said he wanted the fight june 9.

I believe you. I don't think you're working for Arum at all.

I just think you enjoy it when people claim you do. Gives you a bit of kick.

Hence the "cheeky bastard" comment.

Wasn't actually having a go at you. I don't really roll like that.

Damn this pactard is out in force trying to save his god pacquiao. Arum made it clear in November there would be no mayweather fight. We had a press report yesterday that pacquiao will fight June 9th and that will not change. Arum and i'm beginning to think even pacquiao doesn't want the fight after marquez came close to beating him. If Arum was serious about this stadium he would have mentioned it after jmm fight but nope. Schaefer has tried calling Arum, Floyd has made it aware of whom Arum must contact to make the fight and even texting dupoof that he wants the fight. Remember dupoof last week stating Floyd has his number and he should contact him? Floyd is trying but team pacquiao don't want any of it. Oh yeah how can i forget even joke coach roach is trying to save face for pacquiao by claiming there isn't enough time to promote the fight. You have got to be kidding me

Take care, mate!

may 5th was set by floyd. pac's camp is agreeable to fight 2 or 3 weeks later. date settlement is as important to negotiations as taking the purse. why is may 5th non-negotiable?

Where would the world be if we all agreed on everything.

they have to settle this on an end of may date. if the fight is postponed until november, tables would turn again and pac would fight while floyd is over with his once a year schedule. arum will now set a november date and floyd would be seen as going on another vacation and be the one ducking next time.

end of may is a suitable compromise on both sides to make the fight.

The MGM has been booked and paid for (at least a deposit).

Both fighters are available.

Pac is, despite what recent reports are saying. Arum has been quoted as saying Pac-JMM 4 would have occurred on May 5.

So why not Pac-Floyd?

And hasn't Pac fought 2 of the last 3 cinco de mayo weekends... at the MGM?

Which is probably why Arum spoke with this reporter at The Scene, to clear up any misconceptions that were conveyed in the Sports Illustrated piece.

I look at it like this: Yesterday we had two separate reports concerning Floyd Mayweather and Sergio Martinez. One said that Floyd wasn't interested in a catchweight fight with Martinez, the other one quoted Floyd as saying that he would fight Martinez if Sergio could get down to 150.

Now, today, we hear that Sergio isn't on the dance partner list for May 5, 2012.

So, it would seem that Arum isn't the only person dealing with mixed messages and varying press reports.

And, Arum said he looked at the court records of the Mayweather jail sentence extension. And he didn't see anything about "you must fight on May 5."
