A great vid on a great fighter and a true class act.

I have about 5 or so of his fights, for some odd reason the Pryor fights get the most snow and most talk about. And that was when Arguello was past his best. Sure they were great fights. But what about his bouts with Olivares? or Kobayashi? Thsos were great fights right there.
Arguello is in his prime. And at the top of his game in thsos fights.

Alexis has always been a class act.Many of today's fighters could learn from him.

How can you not admire Arguello? And I do agree that people focus on those two late career KO losses too much. They should watch him at featherweight and junior lightweight. Lightweight too, but he was a little bit worn and stiffer in his movements by that time. Still real good obviously, but watching him against Pryor and then showing how fluid and smooth he was against someone like Escalera is a real eye opener.

I too think people put to much emphasis on the Pryor fights. Pryor beat an aging and ring worn version of El flaco Explosivo. In addition to the fights that have all ready been mentioned, I think a lot of fans could benefit from watching Alexis get off the deck and KO Andy Gannigan, and step on the gas and close the show against a very game Ray Mancinni.

Make Arguello and Pryor both 27 years old, and put them both at 135, and AA wins 9 times out of 10. Pryor was very good and some consider him great, but without AA he would just be a footnote in boxing history.

And by the way; here's what happened to the other fighters Alexis faced at 140;

I just watched a clip of the Kobayashi fight, and it reminded me of what a great finisher Arguello was. If he had you in trouble your chances of survival were not good. seems like we don't hear much about that.
