Floyd would win. Patterson's speed combined with Tunney's lower hands spells disaster.

Tunney would get the better on the outside with his superior jab and movement but when Patterson moves to midrange he'll badly expose Tunney's defence. Still I can see both KO'ing each other

Geney Tunney by UD

Too clever with his RING-IQ to lose to a predictable come-Forwards rhythm-fighter.

Tunney times teh headmovements of Patterson like he did to Jackie "The Tramp" Dempsey.

They're roughly on the same level as heavyweights, but the stylistic advantage rests with Patterson.

I think Tunney would spear Patterson with straight lefts and solid straight rights through that funny "peek-a-boo" thing Floyd did.
Tunney by stoppage.

I like Tunny here, but it could go the distance but I think Patterson may get dropped

XPERT post m8!

Peek-a-boo is a v.flawed style And easy to exploit by a opponent with Boxing-Brains.

I think Tunney, if he can stay on the outside he would batter Patterson

Tunney had strong chin, could box great. For him to have 70 bouts in a time when fights were always competitive, and only lose once, never get ko'd, he was great. Patterson was known as one of weakest champs up till 1980's, when he started getting liked more by writers, and some nostalgia hit people. Cus D'Amato protected him very well, tried to avoid top challengers.

One thing Patterson had going was style, but I think Tunney had seen it all, especially after 4 fights with Greb. I consider Tunney one of most underrated heavyweight champs.
I wish he had defended title a time or two more, but he felt he had enough of fighting, and enough money to go.

Tunney decks Patterson en route to a decision win.

I feel like Patterson would have some success in closing Tunney down and pressuring him, his fast hands would mean that he has success once he gets close but i see Tunney boxing him from the outside and maybe putting Patterson down a few times.

Tunney UD.
