I spoke on the phone with Sergey today. He said that after Athens Games was very frustrated and went into depression. Doesn’t want to train and to fight anymore. The Russian went to university and work at the same time. He was called by Hrunov to help in sparings Levedev and Povetkin. And he went back to the gym.
The future? He said that now will get some rest and will wait for Hrunov to appoint his next match. Rozhnov don’t have long plans for his career. Sergey was satisfied by the fight with Beck and said that he feels the years outside the ropes.

Rozhnov seems to have a very strange attitude. You would have thought after dominating someone of the caliber of Beck on your pro debut that you would be aiming for the absolute top of the sport.

Look forward to seeing him fight again, amazing to think that he could be ready to face a top 50 type next in only his second fight.

According to Vladimir Hrunov Rozhnov's next fight will be at the beginning of April probably with another world title challenger Monte Barrett.... WOW Hrunov also mentioned a possibility for European heavyweight title clash this summer and mentioned Dimitrenko's problems with Universum. So why not to see an all Bulgarian clash for Euro title - real Bulgarian Pulev against passport carrying Rozhnov Two former teammates in the national team.

Fighting Robert Daniels 49(41)-9(2)-1 in his next fight which will take place next month.

Daniels hasn't fought since 2007 but I still thinks it's a decent fight considering it's Rozhnov second fight.

I like that he is follwing suit with Pulev and Helenius and going the quick route.

I'm not sure why people think it's a decent fight - IMO it's an extraordinarily poor choice of opponent. He'd be far better off fighting a lesser name that has fought recently. It's not as if Daniels was able to compete at a decent level directly before his retirement.

Over 6 rounds it's good choice I think. Despite Daniels being past it he should still be dangerous over 6 rounds as opposed to a 10 round fight.

I remember reading somehwere where he said that he already feels pretty shot from his amatuer days (although I am vastly paraphrasing) so I would not be surprised if his career is a no go.
