Default Mayweather ducking Kostya Tszyu

Cut that out. That whole myth is complete bullship. There are multiple reasons why this fight didn't come off. Just because a fight didn't happen, doesn't mean it was Floyd ducking.

Floyd has wanted this fight for the longest. He was calling out Zoo before he was even at 140 pounds. One big reason the fight didn't get made was because of Floyd's contract with HBO and Zoo's contract with Showtime. The two networks don't have their fighters fight except for big fights, and this wasn't considered one at the time.

I can bring you muliple quotes of Floyd saying he wanted the fight. Can anybody bring me one from Kostya mentioning Floyd? This whole myth is nonsense. Plus lets look at the timeline:

Kostya fought Jesse James Leija 01-19-2003
Floyd fought N'Dou 11-01-2003 (Floyd's last fight at 135)
Kostya fight with Mitchell postponed because of shoulder injury 2-7-2004
Floyd fought Demarcus Corley 05-22-2004 (first fight at 140)
Kostya fought Sharmba Mitchell 11-06-2004 (after postponement from injury)
Kostya loses to Ricky Hatton 06-04-2005 (In mandatory defense. Retires afterward)
Floyd fought Henry Bruseles 01-22-2005 (coming off longest layoff of career at the time)

Now tell me, when would this fight have tooken place?

And Lance before you come on this thread talking ship, you should read your own post

After fighting Jesus Chavez on November 10th 2001, Mayweather explained how he couldn’t make the weight anymore and expressed how wanted to fight Jose Luis Castillo, and Kostya Tszyu. Larry Merchant asked Floyd why not stay in the lightweight division and clean it up and Floyd said “All these guys say they want to fight, but when you challenge them, they never want to fight

BTW...the roadblock for Tszyu vs. Floyd was each guy competing on opposite networks. You would know that if you were into boxing at he time. You obviously weren't.

Floyd would have fought basically the same zoo who lost to Hatton. Great fight? Nah.

Floyd was waiting for Tszyu to be past his prime, but then Kostya retired after the Hatton fight.

Similarly, Floyd refused to fight still-good Mosley in 2007, and prime Cotto during 2007-2009. He waited for them to be faded before stepping into the ring with them.

Floyd also ducked Casamayor, Forrest and others.

I was actually researching this matchup a few days ago and why it didn't happen and ran across this interview with zoo a month b4 he ko'd sharmba. They asked zoo about floyd and this is what he had to say...

"It would be a great fight. I fought his uncle (Roger - W12 in '95 in Newcastle, Australia) who's training him now. It would be good to fight him too. I remember after Olympic Games ('96) we were in same room as Bob Arum, he just start his career. I already was world champion. It would be a good, good matchup. If the short time will be able to produce this match, it will be great fight."

now it says 'short time' but I believe that was a typo, I assume zoo actually said showtime which proves the differences in contracts is what prevented the fight from happening

Floyd called out Mosley before the DLH fight. Cram it white boy.

No. Mosley called out Floyd on ESPN in June 2007.

But "Chicken" Floyd saw that Mosley was still good in his previous fight with Luis Collazo, so he decided to fight the smaller, reach-challenged Ricky Hatton instead.

According to HBO, Floyd has 26" arms, the same as Wladimir Klitschko's. Hatton has 20" arms.

Who cares who calls who out? Boxing is a multi-million dollar business, not a schoolyard fight.

Not only was Tszyu a Showtime fighter, but also inactive when Mayweather went to 140.

Tszyu= fought in January 2003, got injured, returned in November 2004.

Mayweather= fought an eliminator for Gatti's belt in May 2004. Then fought in another eliminator in January 2005.

Floyd's been an insufferable bitch at times in terms of not giving us the best possible fights, but bad timing and cable networks ****ed this one up.

Some would argue that Floyd only called him out knowing the fight was impossible to be made.

I'm not one of those, but it is easy to suggest.
