Thought for sure Leapei would be favored, especially at home. Gotta take him to win a decision.
Woulda took KJ had this one been in the states with Leapei the slight favorite.

Johnson's shown decent whiskers, but his power is not enough to earn a banger like Leapei's respect. He'll be winning the first few rounds on his boxing, but when he gets tagged a few good times he likely look to keep it on the backfoot, which isn't gonna win him rounds in OZ against a hometown fighter on the rise.
He seems to have bulked up a bit, or maybe just didnt work as hard on his roadwork for this fight. Can't see him KOing Alex and I don't think he'll have enough in the tank to potshot to a win for 12 rds. With Alex as the underdog, and Johsnons history of fighting defensive, you gotta go with the hometown guy here and hope that if somehow Johnson shows up to fight and it's close, that the homecooking in OZ is as good as it is elsewhere. |
