Not for me.

Guys like louis, ali, bowe, holmes, lewis, tyson, holyfield, frazier, foreman, wlad all belong above him.

Vitali has zero inside game. Most elite level hw's would be able to take advantage of that weakness.

Well maybe, my top 10 H2H would include (in no order)

Holmes, Lennox, Tyson, Ali, Louis, Wlad, Holyfield, Bowe, Frazier and Ibeabuchi (unproven but I rate him highly H2H). Foreman is great against certain styles but not others. So Vitali is borderline towards the bottom end of those men H2H

The following I believe are too small to compete Patterson, Marciano, Dempsey and Jack Johnson I'm unsure about

IMO if Marciano was bigger as he would be today, then he'd beat Vitali

A lot of people think he's clinching, but he's admitted several times he just gets cold and lonely in the ring.

On the inside he's got the best clinch going which prevents most smaller guys from beating him.

Vitali can't beat Wlad on the inside because both are shit and it'll just be hug and reset.

He won't beat him on the outside because Wlad';s hands are quicker, more powerful, more accurate and better timed.

Watch more of his fights. He can go to the body, and can uppercut. Vitali moves well for his size, and is a master of range. There just isn't much infighting needed for Vitali. Ali had even less of an inside game than Vitali has. Point being, you don't need to be a good infighter to be an all time great at heavyweight.

I think a strong argument can be made for Vital being a top 10 head to head heavyweight.

>>> He has the best rounds won to rounds lost ratio, not only in the history of the division, but among all boxing champions. No man has taken more than 2 consensus rounds from the judges over Vital from age 26-40!

Ok, so he can box! What else?

>>> Vitali has never been floored by a punch.

But is he active?

>>> His punch stats for those who care to use them rates right up there with Frazier, and Marciano. Actually its better.

Can he hit hard?

>>> Vitali owns one of the best all time knock out percentages.

Can be overcome obstacles outside the ring?

>>> Vitali has come back from multiple surgeries, and lost 4 prime years, but came back without a warm up fight to take his title back.

That's the point, the two best guys he came up against both found a way inside and both beat him.

His poor handspeed has been shown up against byrd and lewis.

His power was good in his prime but his volume and conditioning earned him the stoppages.

Plus I had byrd and chisora taking more than two rounds. Lewis would have taken more also but vitali was in no fit state to continue.

It's very very difficult to know for sure as he's fought against an unusually low level of competition for a top 10 type. I'd guess that although he could probably beat a couple of guys in the top 10 he probably wouldn't do well enough to crack the top 10. Good fighter though.

Not even close ? Does that mean not even in the top 15 ? Top 20 ?

How do you, and others, think he would do with a primed Buster Douglas, Tim Witherspoon, Ken Norton?
